Thanks GH10, as I said I never really catch the NextGen series or the U21 league so I can only go on what I've heard. It would be nice to see him maybe in the Europa first and if that goes well then maybe see him progress like Livermore. I know the likes of Caulker and Livermore had loans before they broke through but that seemed to be a Harry policy, if Pritchard et al are getting games in the NextGen and U21 then they might be able to step up. Of course ideally IMO we'd be able to use the last few EL games to see if they were up to it but we're not in a position to do that this year, which is a real shame. I enjoyed seeing some young players get games last year, even if the campaign was ill fated.
No probs TH I can't say how highly I rate this lad - unfortunately the way the group is panning out Pana will be a must win, so difficult to debut him there. His time will come though I hope. I don't think he needs a loan to be ready - Hodd didn't and I don't think he does - I rate him much higher than Carroll, Livermore, Falque, Mason, Parrett, you name them But as ever time will tell ...
This thread seems to have moved into an appreciation thread on Alex Pritchard. Nothing wrong in that as he is having a fine season and is undoubtedly one of our brighteset prospects at the moment. However, it should be mentioned he is by no means the only exciting prospect we have. Massimo Luongo is also an exceptional talent and a year ago, was getting the same excellent reports as Pritchard is currently getting. Saquile Coulthirst who got a hat trick against Barcelona is another who is in fine form this season and at the moment is looking a better prospect than the higher profile Coulibaly. Coulthirst usually plays on either the right or left of a front three and has an excellent scoring record. Jordan Archer is a fine keeper prospect and is now getting regular football in Wycombe's first team after their regularkeeper Nikki Bull walked out on the club. Archer is well liked by AVB and has come on in leaps and bounds in the past 12 months. We all saw last night, how good Tom Carroll looked and if you consider we also have Cristian Ceballos, Ryan Mason, Yago Falque just behind the first team squad, we clearly have several youngsters to enthuse about in addition to Pritchard. Just as a final note on Pritchard. He is a skillful attacking midfielder who spent much of last season alongside Luongo in the middle, but he has really flourished since being played in a wider role with the instructions to come inside. He started off on the right, but has recently been operating on the left, cutting inside on his right foot. Against Barca this week, he actually started in the middle of a front 3. I don't really see him taking over from either Bale or Lennon, so it might be in his better interersts and his coaches, of concentrating on developing him in one role rather than play him in 4 differing roles as has happened already this season.
Nicki Bull,he must be getting on a bit now,i remember him playing for various club's against Sutton, back in the old Ryman league day's
I think he was in non-league with Aldershot as well because he was their keeper when they got promoted into the league. I think he is getting on a bit now, rumour is he is going to the States for his final pay-day as his in laws live out there.
If Pritchard can withstand the physical rigors of CM at the top flight (a big ask, but he and the club must draw strength from seeing Messi) , I can see a Luongo/Pritchard CM combo serving a Spurs of the future very well indeed.
