Received a text from my contact last night to confirm the photos in the original post are the genuine article.
Still not a fan of the green and blue, but the lighting is bad so they could look much better in real life. And if they are indeed tied into a "North American partnership" then maybe Krueger is doing his job and we'll have a lot of revenue coming in. I don't know who it could be. Sam's Club? Starbucks? Seattle Sounders?
So despite us always hearing about the the club covering the finest details (twenty different types of turf to train on, all that fancy breathing equipment during fitness training etc), we then go and design a kit that is the same colour as grass. It's ****ing bonkers.
Black shorts and green socks complete what’s thought to be the new Southampton away kit 2015/16. Southampton’s new away kit is green an blue at the request of the clubs owners and is thought to tie in with a North American brand partnership. Above is quote from link in Opening Post.
Possibly a link with Seattle Sounders? One of the best sides in the MLS at the moment and they play in green and blue.
Seattle play in 'rave green' / 'lime green' though... the shade of green in that photo looks more like the shade used by Portland Timbers.
Poryland Timbers kit is green top and white shorts tho? Seattle is green top, blue shorts. Could be just a different shade.
With the shadow across the paper it's difficult to tell what shade of green it is. I generally prefer yellow and blue as our away kit but it doesn't really matter and a US link up could be very lucrative. Presumably they've stuck with stripes on the home kit to keep the fans happier.
But changing our kit because of their colours is bullshit. Should be the other way around. Don't want another Cardiff scenario.
