A few miles outside Gt. Yarmouth
I am just as fed up as everyone with our current situation but will try and think of something positive before heading of to the land of Nod.

Next week, Cardiff play Liverpool and a Fulham play Man City at the Etihad. If we beat Sunderland we go 7 points clear of the drop zone. Yes still does not make it safe as we can mess up and the other teams have games in hand but they are either against each other or against top 6 sides. Points on the board are better than games in hand.

All we can do at this stage is get behind the team with everything crossed!
 
Eight games left to save our skin. Three options for the Board, and I'm glad I don't have to make the decision:

1) Stick with CH and hope he can grind out a couple of those 1-0 home wins. He's done it in the past. (But now there is a look of death about the team with him in charge.)

2) Make Adams caretaker for the rest of the season. Might just work and not too much disruption. (But Adams has no first team experience.)

3) Bring someone in and offer them a ****load of money if they keep us up. (But who?) (And would it work?)

as by my name im a safc fan ,i would rather as you say have your points on the board than the games in hand tbh , i think a no score draw is coming up between us
 
Just can't see how Hughton can be in charge against Sunderland personally, that team looked like they'd been set up by a kindergarten teacher yesterday.
The players had no idea what system they were supposed to be playing and it's the very first time I've left a ground thinking that it's over.
The Saints fans I spoke to after the game couldn't believe just how bad we were, in fact in stead of gloating they genuinely did feel sorry for us.
One even commented that how bad we'd become since he'd seen us last play!
Sack the chump today & put anyone in charge, Adams , the balloon blowing clown & his scarie wife or the tea boy. None could do a worse job, if it gave us a lift for a couple of games it might just be enough to crawl over the line.

Too late to do anything now Chippie, but who knows what will happen. The board seem to be sticking with the "we are not in the bottom 3" mind set. We have just got to get behind the team now. The big factor is the players whoever is in charge. Are they up for it?

Neither did Dave Stringer in 1989 but we finished fourth in the top flight and reached the FA Cup semi-final in a time when every side considered the Cup to be just as important as winning the title. In fact, had Chase loosened those purse strings when we were crying out for a striker, we may well have won the double !

So you'll accept Dave Stringer but ignore Bryan Gunn because that wouldn't fit your agenda?
 
That's slightly bending the truth to suit your argument Dave. Stringer had been an assistant already but Gunny didn't have the same experience.
Adams has already managed from u15's through to the youth set up.
 
Wouldn't the U21s manager Mark Robson be a more likely caretaker than Adams? First team experience, doing well with the youth team who play a good brand if football.

Yes, exactly. My point really was that Neil Adams is not even experienced by Norwich coaching standards, let alone PL standards. I'm not advocating Robson either but he is more experienced, and indeed licensed to be a PL manager. To suggest the choice is between Neil Adams and paying a ****load of money, is daft.

KIO, maybe you misread but I said 2nd team experience. Stringer did have that. Nevertheless I take your point that gambling on inexperience can pay off but we don't need to be taking those kind of odds. For me, if we're replacing CH right now for a temporary period we'd want someone that can throw a few tea cups and Neil Adams certainly doesn't strike me as that type. Maybe McNally could do the job :D
 
Under that premise how about Warnock? I think he was some time back interviewed saying he'd be amenable to short term fire fighting roles. I hate him and his football for that matter. But right now his experience coupled with him not being hootun, would leave me in the Warnock, lesser of two evils camp. This is the depth of football despair and depravity that hootun has sent me to!

Dave, say for a second that we somehow manage to stay up with Hughton in charge this season (also, as is only possible, we survive by the skin of our teeth). Would you sack him at the end of the season and look for someone else? Not looking for a politician's answer, just a yes or no.

FYI, this isn't me advocating the appointment of Adams or Warnock. Either would be ridiculous in my eyes.

Hucks, I'm with Superman on this, I think the crowd, or quite a large section of it, have made his position untenable! I just hope and pray the new man is an improvement, otherwise it will be a massive own goal!

Superb, so now it's all the supporters fault, rather than gaping flaws in the approach to how to set up to beat / draw with teams of equivalent stature and wealth. What part of "depth hopelessly out of" do you not see?

And Hucks, no, I wouldn't sack him!
 
Hoots always gets a result just when he needs it which is an artform in itself.

I admire that resilience and character.

If Norwich beat Sunderland next Saturday which isnt inconceivable then they could be 7 points clear of the drop zone.

Crazy situation.
