Yeah it was pretty much an easy win for AM today but it had to be or the rain would've ensured they went off again.
Wimbledon authorities cannot win this one. Put Murray on the cente court and there will be a shout of......favouritism....becaus he's British. Put him elsewhere, where the weather can cause problems and his fans shout unfair. The roof which is great......has brought problems that were probably not forseen at the time..... and that is that Wimbledon is an outdoor daytime tournament..... will this change things ?....there is only so many matches that you can play on the centre court.....remember that it is grass and only just lasts a fortnight as it is....without playing until 11pm every wet day.........it will not be a grass tournament if it is over used or will it?
Ferrer playing the better of the two right now, 1 set up after winning the tie break (could've gone either way to be fair) but definately playing better this second set. Andy needs to up his game and serve at his best to stand any chance of taking the 2nd set.
That was a brutal match for Murray today.........Tsonga will be just as hard.....when he blows hot he can be very hot.
Andy needs to hit the ground running in the next match, possible two. For me, he tends to 'feel' his way in into the matches, but depending on what Tsonga turns up, he won't get that opportunity against him and he certainly won't get a set or two to warm up IF he gets to the final. That's his downfall for me, he takes too long to find his range. He's 5v1 against Tsonga, and should be the favourite, but I've saw Tsonga absolutely destroy guys like Nadal and Fed in the past with amazing power, then I've saw him colllapse against lesser players in the past.
Yes Tsonga will be a real test and the best player Andy has met so far at this tournament, however if he can beat Tsonga he can go all the way because neither Federer or Djokovic are as their best - so far anyway (Andy hasn't reached his peak either!) but he won't get a better chance to walk away with a slam title.
I'm seriously excited about this match today. I'm going for Murray to win in 4 sets. 6v3, 7v6, 6v7, 7v5. I'm hoping that he plays Fed in the final
He should be able to win, I reckon it will be fairly comfortable. Still think either Djokovic or Federer would both destroy him.
I predict a Tsonga win because whatever I predict the opposite usually happens - I'm not predicting that either
