Win at home and draw away... Mostly that's what we're doing... A couple of away wins thrown in the mix and we can do it.. I'm aboard the playoff express.. Choose choo!!
We're currently 12 points behind the "team" that will finish 7th. It's going to be very tight to make the playoffs but I rate our chances better than that 7th place to be rabel.
If we use the season's form for all the other teams, then Forest and wigan will get 76 points. We need 77 - which means 32 from 13 games = 10 wins & 2 draws. how likely is that ? If we use recent form (last 10 games), wigan will get 82, forest will get 75.8 = 76. Reading & brighton will get less than 76 so we still need 77. So, unless 2 out of wigan, forest & QPR implode (derby are probably ok, only needing 4 wins every 10 games + a draw), and none of Brighton, reading, blackburn (& comically, leeds) do as well as us, we can forget the playoffs this year. Irony is, I bought my 1st season ticket ever this year - living in Cheshire does present a few difficulties - on the strength of zola's playing style. Still, at least we are out of Bazooka's clutches.
Yes tall order now.... shame about the season ticket.... I loved how we played under GFZ last season...
If you use the latest form, the last match as your yardstick, you finish up with, -------------------------------------------------- 1 Leicester City 36 5 5 101 32 113 2 Burnley 31 12 3 78 26 105 -------------------------------------------------- 3 Wigan 29 7 10 97 44 94 4 Brighton 27 10 9 48 27 91 5 Ipswich Town 25 12 9 57 37 87 6 Watford 24 12 10 100 39 84 -------------------------------------------------- 7 Huddersfield 25 7 14 110 44 82 8 Bournemouth 24 9 13 112 51 81 9 Sheff Wed 23 12 11 53 38 81 10 Bolton 21 12 13 93 49 75 11 QPR 16 23 7 52 40 71 12 Reading 14 22 10 64 51 64 I love statistics. Shame about the Steptoes.
We do have the chance to wreck the season for a few clubs - push Millwall and Charlton closer to the trapdoor and screw Wigan and Derby's play off pushes. That will do for me along with a win on Easter Monday.
