lets scrap the idea of having a manager and become a Workers Cooperative!!

either that or Solskjaer/Laudrup or the mad guy from Bilbao!

Just checked odds from Paddy Power - very interesting! With them it's a four horse race with Jones and Holloway joint favourites at 23/10, Laudrup 4/1 and Poyet 5/1. I know things will change quickly but who is your choice from that lot? For me it's Laudrup, Poyet, then Holloway and I don't want Jones. He can keep his hesitation for Wigan - don't want our players exposed to it.

Thought Jones was out of it now? maybe wishful thinking. Out of that list Laudrup is the most exciting -but maybe he could be the riskiest sounds like hes had a few bustups along the way.

He's certainly a strong character. That can cut two ways so it's a gamble in that respect. People like Clough, Fergie and Mourinho were and are strong managers. It depends on the chemistry with the players who are the important factors. I don't worry about him arguing with the Board because that can be healthy. What we want to avoid is any misconception about our financial values in terms of transfer fees and wage policy.

I'm sure it will be made very clear to all candidates that they will have to work within our budget. If they can't accept that then they can ply their trade elsewhere whoever it is.

I hadn't realised that Poyet signed a 5-year contract with Brighton last year, so will probably cost a fortune if we want him. Will Huw pay or will he go for a cheaper option? Betting is all over the place, so next manager doesn't seem to have been decided yet.

If Poyet decides that he wants to come to us, he won't cost a fortune unless they've got a high cost release clause in his contract. Contracts don't mean anything in football these days unless you've got the clauses written in them to protect you. Of course, Brighton may well have a clause in his contract for good compensation money. Personally, I wouldn't use more than £2million of the Rodgers money to get him. That would probably be enough.

I hate that we are so in the dark over who the club are chasing. But at the same time, I wouldn't want any targets/applicants to be publicly stated either. Maybe I can organise a meeting with Huw to find out what's going on??

If we don't invite Laudrup for an interview I'll be amazed. He's free, was one of the best players in the world for a good while and plays exactly the same system we do. Sounds too good to be true, and probably is, but it's worth a look.

laudrup whould be ok but his wages might be a stumbling block and not very likely, logically it has to be jones and even though reports say he wants to stay at wigan incase martinez goes then he can be persuaded to join. we will probably end up with monk anyway if it goes on jinks past managers, i would rather him than anyone who will change the club to much, these big names wont tolerate jinks and his interferance and will want total control to do what they think is right. .......it will be someone who has to accept jinks terms and conditions and that wont be your big guns,

As a player Laudrup would command big wages but no so much as a manager I dont think. He has only managed Brondby, Getafe, Spartak Moscow and Mallorca, all clubs who are not really rolling in money or massive reputations (well may except for Moscow). He seems to play a way that would fit exactly the way we are set up plus we are in the biggest league in the worlds. And until we get a big name how on gods earth do you know that they wont tolerate Huw....just pure speculation!!

We have £7m to replace the people that went, not that I am saying we will use all that to do so.

we all know jinks and his interference ways thats why.<doh> it will be an unknown someone who will be a yes man and not a big name. sousa would not put up with him and even brendan had some vicious rows with him..we will end up the way we are going with monk in charge if we dont hurry up , the new season is drawing nearer and we are a mess, we dont have any new players and if we lose joe and sinclair we will be candided as whipping boys next season....forget siggs and forget brendan they are gone, get the new manager in place and pay the going rate for a good one...go cheap and there wont be much hope for us......

"brendan had some vicious rows with him"

So why does Rodgers always say that Jenkins has been brilliant with him? Why does Bobby say the same?

    Change the ****ing record.

You're right about 'going cheap' though. It's not the answer. <ok>
