I think another important trait Moyes would bring is an ability to stand up to Reed and the rest of our inept board to get the best for the first team which I think will be very important going forward

I wouldn't give a toss if he was a Martian; if he is a good coach and gets here quickly and we can start to see the next era, I'll be happy.

That's fine accept Moyes isn't known for "new methods"... more old school. He would do a safe/good job and he is a 'name' but is just rather we went with someone that would make us exciting.

One benefit of Moyes is he'd also be pretty strong with the lose disillusioned players.

If we get Moyes and we do well, a big club might come calling but would he make the same mistake twice? If not could be a good choice for stability alone!

Def in my top 3 choices now.

they were closer to winning the title this season than they were to finishing third in 2005

That highlites how little there was between the top sides this season

Either way, i would not be in the least bit bothered if moyes got the job

it also highlights that their points haul that season would have been good enough for... 8th this season.

edit: and moyes's everton have never taken as many points as the 6th place team this season

You not keen on moyes then? Best case imo is to get someone whos teams play the same style "him" had us playing

He's a safe option. Not sure he'll ever take a side into the top four again. It was a very mediocre year outside the top three.

I don't know if he could develop a more attacking side long term if he was given the financial backing to bring in/hold onto players, but I don't know if our manager will be given financial backing.

edit: and yeah, style wise, Koeman appeals more.

Or it might be more of a case of a top side not wanting to make the same mistake twice, as opposed to Moyes.

After his Utd experience, I really can't see Chelsea, Arsenal or City coming calling for him. And his time at Everton pretty much rules out Liverpool ever coming calling.

Spurs might I guess. Levy will be looking for a new manager within 18 months.

Yeah that's true, so either way if he did ok, he could be here a while ? He would certainly be a safe option, probably what we need at the moment.

Lescott as a signing anyone? Not bad for a free.

Moyes made some cracking signings at Everton and so clearly has an eye for talent
