Depends wha you mean by "no name".... If you put MP in that category, then I'll take another one please. I'd rather have someone that progresses us and then leaves, than a rigid coaching dinosaur who steadies us, but he's well known.
I'd like Ronald Koeman I think. Unattached, well respected, good coach by all accounts and with ties to some very interesting players who would improve the squad. He likes the system we play, has a high work ethic and has a decent track record for signing players and brinigng through youth (just look how many Feyanoord players are in and around the dutch team).
What we do need is a manager that will impress the players with his history and experience. I don't think the players are as hysterical as some think, but we need to get them excited and planning for the future. An impressive manager is a good start.
He's not unattached, I'm afraid. Not a good coach by all accounts, as we discussed yesterday, but he has had a very good past three years. I'd take him, partly for the excellent improvements he's made to Feyenoord, and partly because he could probably attract players with his reputation.
Still Yakin for me. Am I alone in thinking I'd rather not have Mancini? I think he's divisive and not all that good.
Finished nine points behind Fenerbahce. Played uninspiring tactics with City. I've seen very little of him to show he's above average.
Really hope we don't go for Michael Laudrup, I've read several articles about his aloof style with players and non participation on the training ground? I also work with a Swansea fan who hasn't got a good word to say about him. I know its all hearsay but it seems to all stack up for me.
Going to do one of these irritating "my friend told me" things but... My Friend just went and got his season ticket and said he just saw 3 blokes in suits by the Ted Bates statue with David Moyes. I have no reason to disbelieve him, so there you go. We can almost certainly add him to "the Shortlist"... Could do Worse but to be honest hope for better. Good manager but boring style.
Not sure that's true, I can only refer to things I have read and the Swan I work with but I think cracks appeared in his first season?
I dunno. It was brought up the other day that Rooney and Januzaj are pretty much the only two youth players he's brought through in the last 10 (or whatever) years, not exactly in keeping with our whole deal.
If Moyes comes here, it will be under the impression he'll use our academy. It'll be a requirement of the job, so clearly he'd be happy to do so. Who could he have brought through at Everton or Utd, at the level they were at?
