As has already been said, it's entering & exiting where there could be major problems at certain games. How the **** are they gonna police that v Newcastle?
hey, come on lads, this will have been through the police and safety lot before getting this far. I expect that they will only give them the higher seats and leave the front section free for most matches and there will be a good police presence too. This wil remove opportunity for dropping this over the edge. A lot better than where they were, exposed to sunderland supporters on two flanks.
Mmmm, you would think so but the gates for upper & lower are just a few feet apart. Seems a bit dicey at the high risk games.
I assume they will seat police/stewards in the front row so nothing gets chucked down on the home fans. I also expect they wont sell season tickets in the NWU to prevent the SWC lot moving. If it works it will be great but I can see there being loads of spare seats in the north stand. As I have said previously I had a season ticket in the South Stand before the extension was build and the atmosphere there was superb, it all changed when the extension was built and they made the south stand match day sales only. The truth is we need to be doing much better like the Reid era to fill the ground. We have gone from Roker Park to a stadium almost twice the size. Lots of new fans came in the late 90's when the stadium was first built and the good times were here, the novelty has worn off and there is a recession on. I bet though if we got into Europe and were in the top 4 the place would be full. (That might be difficult to achieve).
To be fair, where the away fans go in at our ground also face the home turnstiles, and it's in and enclosed space. The people will deal with it I'm sure. With regards to throwing stuff from the top, our fans in the Leazes End lower hate being sat there for the derby as there is always a few arseholes throwing bottles, coins etc... No doubt we'll have a few ****ers like that.
even worse the ****ers can piss on you from a hight, i would prefer it the other way round or as Mush says
Our fans get walked around the back of the ground rather than through the main tunnel where all the fans walk and are then funnelled in tightly. I have no idea how they are going to get our fans from the coach park or the train round to the other side of the ground?
Can't see it working at our place as it's so open. Although it doesn't directly concern me personally, this does have me concerned.
