No. Any old **** will get you lot out of the woodwork. Yes. Because Anderson is twice the player Scholes was, Giggs was never as good as Young is and De Gea is already better than VDS. It's quite blatant.
Do you not understand the term squad ? Have United imrpoved in goal ? No. Has United squad improved by having cover on the left for an aging Giggs ? Yes Has Uniteds squad improved with Jones having cover for an injury prone Ferdinand & suspense prone Vidic - Yes There's no arguement really.
Let's get it out of the way - This year will be our year! You have to believe that in your heart or there is no point in competing. Will it happen? It may do - we are in a far better position as a club and as a squad than we were last season - but it also may not. I would expect our target to be a top 4 finish but if the possibility to win is there - then take it. As for our opponents, I expect Chelsea, Arsenal, City and United to be there or thereabouts: CHELSEA. It's really a question of attitude. Can they find a way of using Torres and Drogba? Can they get more out of (or a replacement for) Lampard? Will Essien recover his form? Will Terry actually last another season? They do have the potential and we'll have to wait and see if their new manager can unlock it. ARSENAL. For all the talk of players leaving, only Cliche has done so far. They do have to strengthen their defence but they are capable after all they do play some superb football box to box. Oh, nearly forgot, another striker would not go amiss. CITY. Have to say, they leave me cold. Plenty of good players but I don't see the spirit in them - perhaps a City fan could come on here and show me why I'm wrong. Last season proved that they are good enough for the top 4 but can they make the jump and really contend? UNITED. I THINK that circumstances will conspire against them this season(Mancs - don't say prove it because that's impossible it's what I THINK). The majority of defenses have seen Hernandez and know what he's about. Maybe more importantly will he have the 2nd season blues. Can Ferdinand last another season and will Evra re-find his form? Will the midfield become a cohesive unit? One way or another, we will find out next May but I think this coming season will be very interesting
With the players signed coupled with how Liverpool finished last season, I think they can break into the top 4 at Arsenal's expense. Obviously depends on whether Nasri and/or Fabregas go but the key will be to get a full season out of Carroll and Suarez.
If Man United solve their problems in central midfield...The title is theirs However if they don't I reckon the title is heading back to Stamford Bridge. For a number of reasons.Berbatov will not have a season like the last one...it was similar to the one Rooney had the year before...in other words...a freak.Hernandez being the most one dimensional forward in the premiership will be closely monitored. He won't get away with being an ''unknown'' this time round. Liverpool if they sign the left winger and left back they need will nail 4th and displace Arsenal. If they can add just two more players also to that..the sky is the limit.I reckon they could even push Man United for 3rd..and win the domestic cup double.
I don't like Chelsea, but I rate Essien, heard that he has done his knee again, real shame, when he is on his game, he is immense! I think we will get top 4, where I will wait till the end of the transfer window to really get a feel of our team and what we might roll with in terms of personel, formations, tactics, style, etc.
I still believe that if we get the left back and the left winger we need,we're a shoe in for fourth. Our second half of the season form was bettered only by Chelsea. It was better than Man Uniteds and Arsenals.I also reckon we're going to cause a serious amount of havoc.I'm not suggesting we're good enough to win the league...but its going to be a hell of a lot tighter than it previously was.Liverpool are more competitive than they have been since 2007 in the tramsfer market. My predicition still stands,Kenny will have Liverpool crowned champions within 3 seasons.
JUST BLEEDIN SAY IT "NEXT YEARS OUR YEAR" i feel it in me water this time, please dont stop me feeling it,you no its crossed your minds too. well maybe 4th then
Chelsea were the form team last year till RA threw a spanner in the works. They are currently the team to watch, even with Torres as he was and the form they had they almost made it an issue at the end would it have gone to the last game oif that pen wasn't given at Blackburn putting pressure on the last match, who knows but they were never right when they recovered fully imo. They will be fired up and will be a major threat for the, infact, I would say Chelsea will definately be in the running, and they are the only team I think that can be thought of so. I don't expect the title to go to Manchester United this year, I tihnk it is going to be an even weirder season than last, would be comical if City won it, I think the amount of bitterness would make the internet bleed and echo to the cries of you bought the league from accross the road. I reckon Chelsea will lead early on and it is up to the others to keep on their tales and go from there.
Agreed I think Chelsea will be the main force next year. I think they will make some serious moves in the transfer market this summer and will definetly be the team to beat. The usually suspects will also be there or there abouts including Liverpool ( maybe )
I apologise in advance for the pain and suffering Manchester United Football Club may cause you in the coming season. Well, may aswell get it out of the way.
In what way do chelsea strike anyone as the main force next season. A worse manager than last season. Not done anything in the transfer market and like City may be thinking ahead to the FFP rules. For me next season is a formality, there is only one team to beat and it aint Chelsea.
If Man United strengthen their central midfield, they are a shoe in for the title. No question. If they don't....They could easily be dethroned. They may not have as good home form as they had in the previous season thats unless Howard Webb is allowed to refereee all their home games. They still do need to improve their away form, which they had a 26% win ratio(5 wins out of 19). Its away from home where your central midfield gets tested,as you can easily get over-run. All the top 6 have weaknesses. This is going to be one interesting season.
****ing hell I actually agree with KPR - if we sign in CM then we have a good chance. However it's premature to say they have a worse manager, he may really take to the premier league. I think Chelsea will make a fair few changes before the season starts and I also expect Torres to come good. I like your optimisum but I tend to play down our chances to avoid the extra disappointment if we fail. However I really do fancy Chelsea will add strength to their first team and give us a real run for our money next year.
