Well spotted forgot about that Pete, that just confirms what I'm on about, the opening paragraph of your BBC link states: "Swansea City are one of the top 50 revenue-generating football clubs in the world, according to a new report on the sport's wealthiest teams". The article goes on to say: "The Deloitte Football Money League for the 2012/13 season puts the Swans among the leading 50 global elite. BBC Radio Wales's Wales@Work has learned that Swansea are predicted to be in the top 40 next year. Swansea have been in the Premier League for the last three seasons, while Cardiff are in their first season in English football's top flight . Part of the revenue is the result of more money from enhanced Premier League broadcast deals. Swansea are also benefiting after winning the Capital One Cup last season, which qualified them for the Europa League. The Liberty Stadium team are reaping the benefits of at least six home games against European opposition having reached the group stage, and they will receive at least £3.5m from qualifying for the knockout phase of the Europa League." Just adds to my point I'm trying to get through to Dai on, though he will not have it I'm sure............... Dragonborn I think that our board do realise that the 'Striker' position is unique, and while Jenkins did have a grumble at the time, I'm sure he realises what an investment Bony was at £12 Million, and I'm sure that his value has doubled, and come the summer bids are likely to come in at around £22/24 Million, just hope we do not sell him.............
Not to worry neveroff, I will let him roam in the field and feed him cod liver oil. Right as rain come August!
I have my doubts that we will be able to keep bony if the interest in him by a number of top clubs is true, If the price is right or if he has a figure on his head that will trigger his release then we have no option if he wants to go and no player would turn down a big club and the money because of the myth that he loves the club rubbish. You only love the club if there is no option of going higher

The Croatian is hot on the agenda of Liverpool for upcoming transfer window and is yet to sign a new deal with the Andalusian club, putting his future in doubt. De Guzman is currently in his second year on loan at Swansea City from Spanish side Villarreal and neither he nor his parent club have made a decision on his future. The Dutchman is highly regarded in La Liga due to his spells at Real Mallorca and his brief time at Villarreal, and the lack of clarity surrounding his situation has alerted Sevilla. Any deal depends on the future of Rakitic, whose brother and agent has been expected in Seville to discuss a contract renewal since last week but is yet to show up. Sevilla will waste no time in considering suitable replacements with De Guzman being one of those looked at by sporting director Monchi. Unai Emery’s side are not the only Spanish team said to be interested in the 26-year-old as Valencia are considering a summer move while parent club Villarreal will decide on whether they want to keep him in their ranks for next season. The final sentence might well apply to Garry Monk. Had he had more ability as a player and been able to move on for higher wages, I doubt he'd be our manager now. Not a dig at Monk specifically, just a comment that ALL professional players are in the game for money and loyalty never enters the equation these days. It's why I'm so cynical about any player who professes love for a club, I just don't believe it. The FANS are the only people who love their clubs and THAT'S a fact.
I agree totally ivor even if you go back in history of swansea you will find players like your name sake Big Ivor leave the swans for a much better deal than he had with us. The majority of player join us and stay with us not for the love of the club or the city but for the money and deal they can hang on too. There is only a couple of reasons why they do stay and that is if they marry a local girl like rangel and leon, but then again they could move away when their careers are over unless they get an offer of a job. The local born players try to come back home to play their final swan song if they can but not many get the chance like Ivor to get a second chance when their playing days are over.....Those were the days though when your local side was made up of mostly local players and the true meaning of football and representing swansea.
I think you've lost track of time here. Ivor moved to Newcastle in the days when a club owned the player and the player went where and when he was told and for how much. Back then the Swans sold players - Ivor, Cliff, Terry .... the list goes on. It's not necessarily because the players wanted to leave as much as the club sold them for the money. Not that moves to Newcastle and Spurs were bad moves, but the players did not have agents, they had no "rights" to request a transfer ... not until Jimmy Hill (I believe) did all that start turn around.
My shed is very secure (more of a barn really), room for him to practice keep-up's and do star jumps. Fitness not an issue!
This is certainly the case with Monk, dont remember any clubs beating the door down for him, he knows which side his bread is buttered and is on the Swansea meal ticket.
I think Redmond would be a target if Norwich is relegated. He seems like a great prospect for the future and could do an immediate impact...
Current Squad (Loans in red, Home growns underlined) Goalkeepers 1 Vorm 13 Cornell - Loan out 25 Tremmel - Get Rid 45 Zabret - Loan out Defenders (Assuming Monk is manager and has hung up his boots) 2 Amat (CH) 3 Taylor (LB) 4 Chico (CH) 6 Williams (CH) 19 Tiendalli (RB) - Get Rid 22 Rangel (RB) 27 Bartley (CH) - I've liked what I've seen of him but appears that he might never get properly fit. - Replace for me 33 Davies (LB) Midfielders 7 Britton (DM) 8 Shelvey (CM & AM) 11 Hernández (WG & AM) 12 Dyer (RW) 14 Lamah (WG & ST) 15 Routledge (WG & AM) 20 De Guzmán (CM, AM & RW) 21 Cañas (DM) - Probably going 24 Pozuelo (AM, WG & ST) - Probably going 29 Richards (CM, RB & LB) 31 Lucas (CM) - Loan out 56 Fulton (CM) - Loan out ?? Ki Seung-Yeung (CM) - Get rid Forwards 9 Michu (AM) 10 Bony (ST) 18 Lita (ST) - Get rid 26 Alvaro (ST & RW) 54 Ngog (ST & WG) 57 Emnes - (ST, AM & WG)
So I think we need; GK - Somebody to seriously challenge Vorm for the shirt (David Stockdale? David Marshall? John Ruddy?) RB - Somebody to seriously challenge Rangel for the shirt CB - Somebody in the Bartley mould. Young, tall and committed both in the air and the tackle. (Caulker? Surely not!) DM - Somebody to seriously challenge Britton for the shirt....also, a different type to Britton (Jack Cork? James McArthur?) CM - Somebody with similar qualities to Ki but with added work rate and scorer or provider of goals from midfield....Nick Powell for £5m from Man U for me. (Emyr Huws? Jordi Gomez?) AM - Somebody flexible and with the ability to unlock defences, like a more mature Pozuelo. (Johnny Williams? Iago Aspas? Shaun Maloney?) WG - Maybe another young loanee like Lamah. Hopefully somebody more exciting though (Robert Snodgrass? Callum McManaman? Jean Beausejour? Hal Robson-Kanu?) ST - A different type of player to Bony, somebody with pace who runs off the shoulder of the last man ....possibly Emnes though I'm not convinced yet. (Victor Moses? Fabio Borini? Jordan Rhodes?) De Guzman - Would buy him if he was £5m or under. Scored and provided goals 2 years running now. He is the only Loanee I'd retain at this moment, although I'm open to the idea of Emnes (Ideally with a young loanee striker also coming in just in case Emnes doesn't cut it as a striker option. So that's 9 for me (obviously they can't all be first team big money signings, some will have to be young and unproven with potential) and of course we would have to replace the likes of Vorm, Ash, Taylor, Chico, Ben, Shelvey, Michu and Bony if any of them left. Looks like a bit of a rebuild to me. Can see Bony being sold to help fund it. I wouldn't trust this to a rookie. Heard Zola on the radio today. He's available and out of contract, is the type our lads seem to like (one of the boys...like Rodgers). He has contacts at bigger clubs than us in the UK. He has contacts on the continent. He knows what quality and potential is available in the Championship. We could do a lot worse. (pains me to say it but DragonPhil has been banging on about Zola forever. Fair ****s for once I agree with you )
Jeez , whats everyone got against Tremmel .Free transfer than came in more than handy since being here .....KEEP TREMMEL !!! Seems Tremmel's got a badcase of Goweritis .......very useful and under appreciated.
