    Teddy Sheringham has applied for the vacancy at Portsmouth: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/former-pompey-star-declares-job-interest-1-6699405

    Teddy's been a coach at West Ham since May 2014, and there will be those who will be against this on the basis of him being a rookie manager and a former player, etc but I'd only be against it if the Club dont sign him for two season or more and give unrealistic expectations for his first season - which would be true of any candidate from my perspective.

    DO NOT EMPLOY HOLLOWAY!!!!! You just have to look at his record for relegating clubs. He's great when it comes to interviews and coming out with the funnies. He'll even tell you how much he loves you all and can't live without you. When he's spent whatever money you have and gets a better offer he will be off like a Badger in mating season without a backward glance.

    Well Holloway came out favourite on the News poll.

    But the board have asked Chesterfield if they can speak to Paul Cook.

    Plus they have 60 - 70 serious applications/CVs to go through to get a short-list.

    You need to look for someone who understands the club and the way it works. Someone who projects the right image to the outside world of the sort of future to which the fans aspire. Currently working in North America, he could perhaps be tempted by a new challenge?
