From what I've heard Rafa is still number 1 choice and we're still trying to lure him away from Everton.

I read that too, not sure how reliable though.

It would surely cost a ****ing fortune. I know we're minted, but Moshiri isn't just going to say "yeah, I kinda ****ed up there so I'll terminate the contract.".

Rafa would be the safest pair of hands imaginable. Knows the players, knows how to get a win. Often horrible football, as Everton are discovering, but we need safety and a platform to build from which Rafa can give.

I agree, but I'd prefer him not signing dross in January.

Never been a fan of co managers, I don't think it works. Rafa will have an aneurysm with the rests attacking instincts. No I think thats a mad idea DPP. There can only be one king.
 
If we go from Ten Hag/Overmars or Fonseca/Rangnick to ****ing Rafa Benitez I am going to be so very depressed. Surely we can do better than ****ing Rafa man? Let us live a little and watch some proper entertaining footy. Not that ****s drab stop the oppo ****e. I mean if someone could guarantee me he was only here till the end of the season, would have no say at all in any significant January transfers, then I'd take him for the fire fighting role. But otherwise you're installing someone who is impossible to follow and won't deliver what the fans should want - entertainment!

God forbid they get the appointment right eh. I would like to see them but I've accepted it won't happen before Chelsea. Otherwise why tell Jones he has two games to oversee?

I like the patient approach to it, I'm hopeful they have something exciting in the offing.

There's a nice time after Chelsea or even Brighton to bring them in.

There's nothing any manager can do vs Chelsea and bringing them in now would burst the bubble before they get their feet under the table.

This is a 5 to 10 year plan... Its less than 3 weeks in and people are flapping.

They should be more worried about dieing too soon..

I've managed to temper my patience a lot. In time, people will fall in line I think - it's daft to keep flapping about every little thing, but there's always going to be a nervousness when you're bottom 3 and have some horrendous fixtures coming (fully expect Man U to wait until the Newcastle game before then appointing Poch).

I'm still optimistic there's something quite surprising in the offing. No rationale as such other than Fonseca seems to be ready to go but isn't being rubber stamped yet.

I'm very relaxed about it all.. Its just a question of staying alive now.

A year in the championship isn't ideal, but we're bullet proof.. We can just keep the current side buy the best players in the championship and romp the league.

I agree. I was thinking about this at the weekend. What is the benefit for the Chelsea game? I reckon there is only a 15% chance of victory at best. They look brutally efficient. So a heavy defeat is likely in our current state. How does that help a new manager? I don't believe it does at all. Whereas a shock victory followed by an exciting appointment will see us on a euphoric rise. If we lose, heavily or otherwise, we still get the bonus of new manager lift.

All in all, I think we should leave them to it, they've obviously been plotting for the best part 3-5 years.

Do you have any names (apart from your hero, Gallardo!) who excite you more than others? What's your considered view on Ten Hag for example?

It's this now now now attitude isn't it. They're so desperate they can't stop and consider these points.

They couldn't run a bath but like to think they know how to run the club.
