Simon, I've heard Joe Kinnear is out of work, and out of his mind with Alzheimer's! The perfect combo for this job!! Sign him up?? Thoughts?
It might be a blessing in disguise if we go down. We can still build. But I would much rather stay up.
It just doesn't really matter. It'll give the other clubs a laugh, but it'll just delay the inevitable. If it happens no big deal
With all the criticism around us at the moment we could do with one of Joe Kinnear's classic press conferences, saying "**** off you ****" to everyone who dares to say a bad word about us. He'd be ****ing useless and body would fall apart mid season, but still we'd get Joe Kinnear vs The World again!
Fonseca 8/11 now Ten Hag 22/1 Still long odds for TH, would have expected it to shorten significantly.
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/erik-ten-hag-ajax-newcastle-21955186 Ten Hag saying it would take something "extraordinary and exceptional" to make him leave Ajax.... instead of just dismissing it outright, you can almost read his words as "pay me enough and I'll come".
Weird one, given that others such as Emery came in from the cold on a whisper from Craig Hope. The Overmars/Ten Hag story was regurgitated and you'd expect bookies to hedge at lower odds. We need to see some movement this week - hopefully a number of appointments.
Just seems they've no idea so they've just remained same as last week, hence that knacker Lampard is still high up there. Guess they're taking their time as they want the full management team. Overmars with be a coup in the DoF role, but would he insist on only doing so as long as we bring in Ten Hag and refuse to be there if Fonseca comes in? Dunno.
I reckon @Roy Munson is right, I think they went in for those who were readily available (out of work) but have also tested the water with harder-to-attain and are maybe getting some positive indicators. Whether it's Overmars, Rangnick, etc. who knows. Would be ideal to have it lined up for Chelsea but not necessarily in the dugout for what will most certainly be a whitewash.
The second sentence is from a while ago, pre-Spurs approach I think. Thing is, nobody's going to say they want to be here until they're appointed. But they can't afford to delay too much longer, there's a sprinkling of winnable games before the Xmas nightmare. Worryingly, Rafa is the one you'd probably want. Wouldn't be pretty, but would be effective and although I love the thought of an Overmars/Ten Hag combo, I think a Michael Emenalo or Michael Edwards with Rafa set-up would almost guarantee safety.
