Well I did hint at it with the "inside line"...I recall we've discussed Howe before and you lived down that way. This idea that because he was relegated then he is ****e, I honestly don't know how people work this out. Plenty people have been relegated. Was Wenger not relegated at Nancy before Monaco? Sir Bobby was relegated with Fulham before struggling in the old 2nd division and getting bulleted. The great Antonio Conte, just look up Arezzo <laugh> Zidane although not relegated had a torrid time at Castilla.

Look away now if your Rafman. Benitez was sacked by Valladolid (bottom with two wins from 23 games and nine points adrift of safety, though they’d duly escape once he’d left), sacked by second-tier Osasuna (in the relegation zone with one win from nine games, though they’d duly escape once he’d left), and took Extremadura up and then down again before he decided that a gap year was in order.

Plenty of examples of managers having tough times. Sometimes clubs are a bad fit, sometimes managers aren't the finished article, some clubs are an impossible task.

Absolutely agree. It's all a learning experience basically until the right mix comes together. Of course there are those that are able to take advantage of that, those that can't and those that never get the opportunity for one reason or another but you've got to look deeper than that.

I’m struggling to understand how getting relegated might be positive other than it’s an opportunity to clear things out and start from scratch.

There must be some good managers in the Championship who fancy a stab?

It's not a positive but its just a delay.. Eventually nufc would get promoted then they'd go from there.

I don’t understand. I was asking if Chris Hughton would be a good option for us?

Sorry mixed two responses.

I personally dont want hughton. We desperately need someone who can attract players.

I think ita foolish to assume everything is easier with relegation, as you still have to come back up and do the same **** all over again (you’d have Champ players).

I've come to the conclusion our owners are going to have to defeat a web of ****housery well beyond the confines of the premier league.

Just get fonseca in ffs. He's desperate to come and he's good enough for us.

They're obviously after another from left field If either the fonz or Howe aren't employed in the next week

Exciting times

I can’t see is getting that manager right now even with money it’s career suicide if it goes wrong without guarantees.

Fonseca is desperate as is Howe... There's probably others too.

The emery attempt was bold given our position and If young boys had won it might even have come off.

I'm taking great encouragement from how close this was.

I’m coming around to just get one of the two you mention. In all seriousness I don’t think the manager is the important one anyways right now.

It’s the recruitment of players in January which is important and that will likely be done by others.

I keep coming back to I would much rather a better team behind the scenes is appointed to do the work in preparation for a January and next season.

We could do worse than saying to someone like Howe prove yourself by the end of the season. Even if relegation happens if we can see improvements then fine.

Relegation isn't a problem.. The enemy might get a laugh in, but it'll be us that laughs last..

I think it would be an opportunity to shed a lot of crap and there is some good players we could sign to get us out of that league.

If I am completely honest I just want progress nothing more. And I’m tired of seeing the same players doing nothing at all.

In 5 to 10 years I'll be vaulting the **** out of people.

We might have to go through a rough patch and let them walk all over us until then
