If we're looking for managers that haven't left one job for another we'll be looking at a very short list. And obviously we wouldn't dare to try and tempt a manager doing well at another club...
Could we even afford to pay another club compensation to take their manager ? I very much doubt it, which rules out a few. The Ipswich chairman is loaded and they are flying high as are Plymouth. Edwards was on the short list before we appointed Beale but now he has gone to Luton and Dyche's wages are way too high and Wilder won't go anywhere where there isn't money to spend. It's either go with someone untried, look abroad for someone who isn't gonna want a big salary or give it to Critchley. With the time frame available, I think it will be the latter and hope he doesn't get another offer before the end of the season !

Beale was left field. Few saw it coming.
Hoping they an do the same.
I think it needs to be a Brit or an overseas manager who has managed in the Championship.

Just out of irrelevant curiosity, I thought I read somewhere the GR was Beale's boyhood club. Is that true? Is he a Scot? If not a Scot, how did that happen (if true!)?

As for all the people arguing and giving credit to Ferdinand's and Hoos' so called 'due diligence' that led to Beales employment in the first place.....

BALLS!!
To be fair to them, you do expect a basic level of honesty when you take someone on in a key role and what they tell the board they will do for the club. They didn’t get it wrong, the guy was basically lacking in integrity and honesty to all around him - it’s hard to allow for that in an organisation.

Others, in the future, considering Beale for any role will have a history to look back on the guy. Snake! :emoticon-0105-wink:

Nearly 60 years of unbroken season tickets will come to a rapid end if it's Parker. But there again I can't see anyone on that odds list who really suits the talents of our current squad.
A little further down that list you have 3 belters ! Sherwood, Campbell and Terry lol. **** me are they for real ? If they appointed Terry, I'd seriously blow up Loftus Road

As it turned out, the board appointed the biggest cnut going around, Terry, for the snake that he is, would struggle to match him.

According to reports Beale told us that if Rangers came looking he would go and considering their form at the time surely it was only a matter of time before they would come in for him
He should never have been given the jib in the first place a bad appointment by our board.

I recommend against Herdman (sorry - that was om the first page of this thread) mainly because he seems to specialize in national teams and has done so both here and NZ - That means he doesn't have to work with the day to day running of a club team when he only works with his lads or lasses for a few days and then done. Besides - he got us to WC and as a host country in 2026, we have to improve on this year
