Rafa of course. Why he was sacked I never understood. Working with less resources he managed a team which in his 6 years won the CL, got us another CL final, won the FA cup, and finished #2 in the PL. One year he did not qualify us for the CL (finishing 7th) and was sacked.

He developed many of our finest players, Alonso, Torres, and 6-7 years ago he was credited with transforming Carragher from a team player to a world star - what player has been developed under the leprechaun?

He was somewhat saddened by not being even considered during the '12 manager change, so he might not want to come back.

The difference is for his first 3 years Rafa had very little to spent. His results were always going to be mixed as he was forced to gamble.

Once Rafa had money to spend he brought in Torres, Benayoun, Mascerano and Riera and those players filed the holes in our team. Each one of those signers were done with obvious logic and were executed brilliantly.

Unfortunately the money ran out and Parry wasted £20m on Keane against Rafa's wishes (and got sacked for it). Ridiculous things like that cost Rafa his job.

Rodgers however has a happy and well run club. He has money, all be it with some limitations on how he can spent it (young players etc). I dont think Rodgers signings are actually to blame, its his team selection. His insistance on continueing to pick out of form players when the alternatives have perfmored miles better when given a chance. He also has the squad depth that Rafa never had (you could say apart from with strikers but he has enough in terms of numbers, he's just picking the wrong ones).

Too soon for this sort of talk ffs.

Look at the 4th place league so called favourites!
    Liverpool 14
    Spurs 14
    Everton 17
    Arsenal 17
    United 19

After 12 games.. except Spurs who are playing now.

The managers at those clubs have been really struggling. Even the United win yesterday had more to do with terribly wasteful Arsenal and an own goal by Arsenal. Cracks papered over

Rodgers is not alone, Martinez Wenger vG Pochettino.

    Spurs are losing <laugh>

But we finished second last season.

Inuted finished 7th, Everton 5th, Spurs 6th and Arsenal threw the title away as much as we did and finished 4th.

We can only compare ourselves to Arsenal on that list.

When Arsenal got going there looked lightyears between the both sides in attack. I know you are depleted at the back. They just played a game of trying to hit De Gea with the ball, first time he was called on to do something more than average by Giroud, he was beaten.

Great points for you lot, definitely, but Arsenal went and beat themselves yesterday, they seem to have some problem when they play you lot, I wonder if Wenger's to blame :D

Rodgers is doing badly atm, but people are making out it is soooo badly when the other "top top" managers are doing just as ****.

Doesn't matter where we fnished last season. My point is Rodgers is not the only one having a s**t time of it because the usual makeweights are not lying down and being beaten.

If Chelsea don't win the league this year, they should all jump in a blender

We had 13 players out and another injured very early.

We went with a plan and won. Not uniteds fault arsenal bought welbeck. Well it sort of is but so what. There problem.

Arsenal were never beating us yesterday. Our hilarious back line was no different to when weve beat them with comedy midfields and made park ji sung the stuff of arsenal nightmares.

The fact arsenal thought they didnt need to defend made it even better. A clear schooling for wenger.

No to Rafa, been there done that. He had years to get his head around Prem footy and never did. Had his chance and blew it (and it wasn't all down to money....he had plenty and wasted a lot).

Klopp is the stand out candidate but even he's struggling without his star striker....sound familiar?

Still waiting for the worm to turn and see the 1st Pool supporter start calling him Brenda :) Oh the abuse we Jacks took for calling him that and criticising his inability to change things and have a plan B, over used book of excuses/phrases/spin etc

And you thought we were bitter....

I actually think our current squad could make a great foundation for an ambitious manager to build on. Add just a few stars to the first team and use them all correctly and we could be cruising in no time.

We could call Rodgers that ambitious young manager and let him build on this foundations. But right now he is failing in the 'use them properly' department.

I'm not sure on Klopp he seems a bit odd and if he gets under pressure I can see a complete meltdown from him.

Simeone for me I like the aggressive style he plays and he seems to get the best out of players.
