That is a good point, and I would certainly love it if we promoted someone from within who took us up and was successful, and became a legend but it seems to me that for every Eddie Howe, there are three or more Paul Harts. I think when we're in a more stable situation then perhaps we can afford to hire someone internally, but for now I'd be strongly against it. And I suppose it depends on the internal choices that would present themselves. Guy had little experience, Tony Adams had little experience, Paul Hart's managerial record was terrible and I was always against him being made permanent manager. [quoet]I did say only HALF of me wanted it to happen, Lapras, but his stirling work in the Academy outweighs anything else in reality.[/quote] It's a catch 22 to some extent, obviously I want us to win every single one of our last games, but at the same time, I don't want us to hire AA so I guess we can't win every game!
Dare I say it, but if it was within the club's budget (which it wouldn't be of course) we could do a lot worse than biting our tongues and having ol' Droopy back for a third term. What ever you may think of him, he is a wheeler dealer and players seem to want to play for him. Just so long as the board wasn't to go down the same route as the idiots who let the club almost go to the wall by offering ridiculously high wages to their free transfers!
Well dev, there are rumours suggesting he might well leave QPR end of the season, SO, might he buy part of PFC and take control. If it's his own money he is spending he would probably think twice before overpaying for anything
Blimey, now you are all going beyond the realms of fantasy. If Harry was going to sink his money into a club it would be Bournemouth. Besides, he has far too much dirty washing to come back here and would not be universally welcomed.
O'Driscoll knows his stuff, but his dour character(and his lack of media skills) meant he failed to bond with the fans Since his departure, Cotterill has turned things around, so probably a good thing he left. Still think he is ok though
Steve Cotterill wore a suit until a winning match (might have been the Leicester one) when he wore a track-suit............ the fans insisted he wore his track suit ever after
If he brought Jim Smith back with him, it could well become..... "Judas & Jim, Judas & Jim.......Judas & Jim, Judas & Jim"
http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/awford-calls-for-quick-decision-1-6013332 Andy Awford says the decision on who the next manager is should be made quickly and shouldn't run into June, also the board know where to find him if they want to talk about giving him the job, and that the next appointment must be a long term one with a clear plan for the future.

Hopefully then a quick decision will be made, so the new manager can start planning for next season, and immediately read through the list of retained/released players from other clubs, to decide who we want (can afford) to sign for the next campaign #Awfs for Manager
He'd have been about 23-24 I think. I still have the same shirt as that one and wore it the day after we won the cup.
