Would challenge anyone to watch this and not want their club to hire him immediately... All the immediate talk is a bit premature though... he won't do anything until after their cup final.
His final league was emotional - look at the fans and the players, and you'll see the impact he made on the whole club. Dortmund were really up against it at the start of the season but they continued to support him and he managed to turn it around. How anyone can think Rodgers is on par with Klopp is beyond me.
Maybe and maybe they are trying to let Brendan Rodgers down gently, since it's is unusual for Liverpool to conduct their businesses openly. Can also be out of respect for Rodgers.
