I'd be very happy with Iriola. Made Bournemouth into a formidable team, very good to watch.

Much happier with him, than taking a punt on Alonso, who's main asset seams to be that he once played for us.

Don’t get the alonso hype tbh
 
I think like Rodger’s had the unenviable task of managing out Gerrard and Carragher
Slot has had issues with Salah
Can’t thank Salah enough but I never wanted Salah or VvD giving those massive contracts
Nor did I want Isak for the amount we paid for him or Wirtz ftm

I don’t think Iraola is the answer but I don’t think Alonso was

I think I would have wanted to see how Slot started next season but it is what it is
Whoever the new guy is - I wish him all the best
 
Think general feeling is Alonso is much more a guardiola type coach patient build up possession which is what Slot also tried to do and they want to move back to more fast fluid football which is what the fans have been screaming for all season.

Iriola gets his team playing that fast transition football, however always far easier to do that counter attack when you’re the underdog and not dominating possession. Averaged 40% possession so far from what would expect at Liverpool. However always hope with better quality players (on paper) can adapt.

Attacking wise the two clubs were super similar in raw stats. One big difference was touches in box. We got in there a hell of a lot more but didn’t actually help us at all when it came to scoring goals.

Quite a big difference off the ball - which maybe partly explained by possession stats but also just highlights how passive we wwre

Bournemouth make a lot more effort to press and win the ball which results in more duels won and more free kicks given but means play is also broken up more rather than where we would let teams walk through us and fail to stop it either by winning the ball or stopping the break.
