I agree he's not a bad manager - but Man Utd and Sociedad fans will never agree with that. I also think that Bruce is a good Championship manager & he's got us into a good position at the moment. Those who are calling for him to go are completely wrong.
It's not often that I disagree with you Bo, but as regards you championing Moyes, stop been dosile ****.
Flannel? I wash my arse with my flannel, why would you want to wear yours? ****ing Americans have some weird customs, surely you'd smell a bit ****ty. Edited for reasons of an omitted question mark. This full time working lark is frazzling my ****ing brain!
haha, I dont think Flannel is just an American thing. How else am I supposed to chop down a tree properly unless I look like Paul Bunyan?
Gaylord. I use my wife's flannel to clean my arse. Mines for me face. Hers is for her face If she finds out, I'm dead.
It's alarming how 3 injuries have changed us from title contenders to a bunch of **** ****s. That's quality in depth, something I bemoaned throughout last season. Now, the transfer window saw the departure of some great players (and some **** ones) and we brought in some decent players (and again, some **** ones) to replace them. When the window closed in September, I looked at that squad and thought "great, we don't actually need anything else, we're well balanced and could cope with the rigours of the Championship." At this moment in time, I'm not so sure. The loan window is now shut, meaning we face a tough Christmas period with essentially what we have now plus Dio to come back. Who, in our present line up, is going to grab the team by the scruff of the neck and get them fighting? There are 15 points on offer between now and the opening of the transfer window. 3 weeks ago, at least 13 of those were a formality. If we keep playing the way we did against TWS and Derby, we'll be lucky to scrape 6. By which point, we'll no doubt have lost touch with the top 2 and probably be out of the play off positions. That's the brass ring, fellas. It doesn't make for pretty reading, but that's exactly what'll be going through Steve Bruce's head. Have this squad got the bottle for this tough run? If they haven't, then why not? It's no good saying in May that Steve Bruce is our best ever manager who took us to Europe and got us promoted etc if we finish 9th. The club have to be ruthless, this isn't a time for sentiment or memories of hazy Summer afternoons in Slovakia. It's time we started acting like promotion contenders and Brucey either needs to find a winning formula (and fast), or the Allams will find somebody who can. They want the money, they want the club in the Premier League so they can sell it, don't think for one second they won't cut Bruce adrift if it means getting promotion and their mits on a piece of the bonanza on offer.
Wouldn't it cost the club loads to sack Bruce after bizarrely giving him a 3 year contract extension?
I think it was actually just a revised rolling one year contract that ran for three years, so it wouldn't make any difference.
Haha, am taking on board all the feedback. I reckon Bruce will be here till the end of the season anyway so who knows might be available then
Doesn't help when the manager signs players who can't play for 4 months and then will probably need the rest of the season to adapt, Bruce probably will be gone by the time Diomande reaches his potential, if he ever does that is. Poor Luer too
Now Now. Come on and think about it for a while. It is so much easier to sack a manager on Xbox / football manager type games. However,, in real football...............
On these ^^^ points I agree with to a point. However it is the injuries to Dawson and Meyler that has un-balanced things more. Certainly Livermore is missing Meyler alongside him. Dawson maybe ready by the Reading game. The Allams certainly want the club back in the PL hence why I suspect that at least one new striker maybe2will arrive in January. Thankfully AA is not putting anymore pressure on Steve Bruce that SB does not put on himself. 2 blips is no reason for sitting on the panic button like some have. Nothing to do with blind faith simply the players need to get a grip and start playing to there ability again. I bet Dawson has had a few things to say to the players this week as well after Leeds.
There's nothing sudden about it, he got gradually got more and more **** over at least eighteen months. And what happens in actual games is as evident to us as it is to him, at least it should be, though there's little evidence of that being the case. The suggestion that fans shouldn't have an opinion or be critical, just because they haven't got a UEFA Pro Licence, is laughable.
I suspect Brucey is going nowhere irrespective of what happens on the pitch between now and the end of the season. That said if we miss out on the play off's with the squad we have, then for me its deffo time to go! Whilst it's a results business, the style of footie we play is also as boring as hell most of the time. I also disagree with Brucey who says no inbound players during Jan, we need a left wing back and a striker whether Diomande comes good or not. Who would I bring in, maybe take a punt on Carragher?
Agree with your opening points - Allam will only think about changing manager if we don't make top 6. Having said that, I don't think many would say we were playing boring football when we won 5 in a row recently.
Sounds sensible, but the boring footy like the poster above, I don't agree with! Also Carragher? Jamie?
That's bollocks and you know it. Was he **** when we went on our unbeaten, recent, run? When we were top of the table? When we got to Wembley? The highest in the league cup ever? I'm not bothered by peoples opinions or if they're critical, but suggesting he's turned **** is bollocks. Calling for him to be sacked is ****ing stupid too.
