Everton are set to appoint Duncan Ferguson and Leighton Baines in interim charge after sacking manager Rafael Benitez. (Football Insider)

Happy with that and not unexpected. Can see them going for the rest of the season with a decision on who will be leading us out of the Championship taken then.

Sean Dyche
good call, but whoever gets the job will be in the same financial position Rafa was in, so Dyche will be going from one club that won;t spend money to one that can't. 5 years of squandering money seems to have caught up and now it's either FFP or Moshiri who need the books balanced.

We could do far worse than him imo. There’s a snobbery about him because of the way Burnley play, but it’s the only way they have a chance to survive every season, give him better players and I reckon he’d do well.

You could definitely do worse and tbh many of the supposed frontrunners strike me as far worse.

Rooney has the sentimental value and is a club legend but with zero PL experience is a huge gamble.
Martinez is just Moshiri taking the piss, surely?
Potter isn't leaving Brighton to come to you. He'll aim to push on in the second half of the season and attract the interests of a bigger fish, no offence.
Nuno looks burnt out tbh and his football is as bad a Dyche's.
Fonseca was on the brink of becoming our manager during our farcical search over the summer but here again is the huge risk of no PL experience.

Dyche has long overstayed his tenure at Burnley. Took them as far as he could years ago. He'd be the arse kicking many of your players need and would rebuild you from a much more defensively solid foundation.

It is a huge issue whoever takes the job.

Multiple playing assets worth considerably less than what was paid for them and a £750m new stadium that isn't going to build itself or get funded by the taxpayer <whistle>

I actually bought into Fonseca becoming our manager after doing some research and watching some TIFO stuff on him.

Risky move for anyone due to the no PL experience factor but I think he could do pretty well in the Prem if given time and backing.

Think he'd be quite similar to Lage, he's got Wolves playing some semi decent football, they're more enjoyable to watch under him than they were under Nuno and similar to Nuno's spell are looking to mount an outside chance of qualifying for Europe.

Yes Lage has been a complete left field appointment. Total flop before Wolves hired him yet he's doing well there.

zzzzz, unlike you we didn't get any money from the taxpayer to help us build a stadium. Taxpayers gave money to Seb Coe to make a White Elephant and we came in to make sure the taxpayer got something back from it. We didn't put our staff on Furlough or borrow an interest free £100m of the taxpayers either.

Your bent owners bunged the Tories to basically give you a stadium, even though it's ****.

Should be booted out and move Orient in.

Your 'ESL' club had taxpayers pay your staff's wages, we're giving taxpayers money they wouldn't have had, not hard to see the difference you whiney hypocrite?
Yeah, move LO in, I'm sure the share of the money from the concessionary stands will increase.
