I'm thinking Reece or Mount, most likely Reece with Silva/Azpi still playing prominent roles and guiding the boys for another season or two before an academy boy takes over. Conor could be looked at too.

In Reece Conor Mason we could have three academy boys who become the next generation of leaders for our club

If Rudi signs on, he is probably too passionate to be captain.

Both have the passion and probably the skills to do the job. Mount looks to be closer to the action though, one criticism of Dave is he's too far from the action. Not sure that matters, and I suppose it depends on which position Reece finishes up in, right back or more wide midfield/wingback?? Or maybe who can shout the loudest !!
