Glen’s letter to Vincent Tan. He’s been burning the midnight oil to pen this missive. https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/open-letter-vincent-tan-show-31524148
Poor old Glen. I thought this letter could have not mention the egg chasers but he just can't stop himself.
https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/new...message from Tan Sri Vincent Tan | 29/04/2025 Our Lord and Master speaks... No news on a DoF though...
Seems he said, 'I've c0cked up, here are some platitudes, don't expect anything different next season'.
‘ A period of review is being undertaken; a permanent manager and management team will be appointed in the coming weeks. As a point of developing strategy, our Board of Directors have begun internal discussions with executive management and staff to strategise and plan for the summer and new season.’ Well let’s just wait and see. The horse bolted a long time before the barn door was shut Vince. But thank you for what you’ve contributed so far. Does a permanent manager and management team include a DOF? If not we’re still going to struggle. Ramsey is not the right choice for me. Don’t get me wrong, I know he is enthusiastic but his lack of experience is worrying. I’d rather see an experienced manager with Rambo as his assistant. Also the paragraph about our board of directors strategising a plan for the summer and the new season makes me shudder. They know nothing about football or how to run a club. What we need is a clean slate. If Vince sells, which is unlikely, at least we can start again, hopefully with a board who have a basic knowledge about the game. The only other option is to replace the board, which I doubt will happen. I fear therefore that we will continue to struggle again in Division 1 (or should we call it by its real name, the third division) unless we can follow the business model of teams like Birmingham who not only kept their core of players but spent millions in in the close season.
Agree, but the real question is would an "experienced manager" want Ramsey imposed upon him as his assistant? If he was desperate for the job then maybe he would accept that imposed situation, but do we want someone (experienced or not) who is "desperate"? Not saying for one minute that Ramsey wouldn't make a good assistant, but that condition if applied could be a deal breaker. Most able and experienced managers, even those who are less experienced, would normally have their own supporting "lieutenants" with whom they're comfortable. Also chicken and egg. Do we need an established DoF on board to assist with the choice of new manager or just get someone in after such a major decision has already been made?
You're right that managers usually turn up with a couple of appendages. I think DoF first, then manager.
Just had a message flash upon my phone that Ramsey no longer wants the managers job. I don’t blame him and as I’ve said before he’s not the right candidate at this time.
Please if he is going to stay on as a player he must be on a play for pay and not the stupid money that he was on.
He shows a degree of maturity and understanding of the game that's been lacking in the current leadership of the club for some time.
