So did I in posting the quote from the Supporters Trust - that was just a fact. No need for smileys - let's just move on.
That is spot on in every way. The club needs to start the whole rejuvenation process now. A complete shake up from top to bottom is essential but outside agencies absolutely must be involved. It is patently obvious trying to run the club from within has palpably failed. Next season should be seen as an opportunity to start afresh in every facet of the club. Unless the club get it right the club will stagnate and potentially lose a generation of young fans like it did in the dark days of being in Division 4 last century. There is no issue for me with the club being owned by a mega wealthy foreign person but the obvious problem is his stubborn reluctance to accept that he needs to delegate the running of every aspect of the club to appropriate personnel experienced who are qualified in their roles. Will this leopard change his spots? History suggests not.
Probably because they disagreed with you? You think they should give Ramsey a go as manager next season and I don't - that's all there is to it.
Your assumption about me is outrageous. I really can't fathom that remark. You're suggesting I pointed out that they agreed with you because they disagreed with me??? I don't know how you think my mind works but it's not like that. Far too complicated.
Really? They’re a decent bunch of fans with good intentions and the clubs interests at heart. More’s the pity the club hierarchy either ignores their points (as featured in OS’ post) or accepts them but are too egoistic to publicly admit as such and do anything about it - to the detriment of the fans and ultimately to themselves. I’d be interested to read what others think of how to go about next season in my earlier post.
Not Karcher for that clingo - it's my new Hovvida L-ion portable tyre inflator I reviewed for everyone on the "Away from football" thread...... Only minor niggle was the short airhose (about 10") supplied with it - makes you crouch down to ground level to connect and use. Just ordered and received a 30" airhose with Schrader valve quick release connection. Can now stand up and watch the digital screen as it does its' magic. Anyway, back to the thread - who's for a coach who's done his "apprenticeship" like Carrick, McKenna, Arteta, Maresca, Chris Davies et all?
That would be great if they could be persuaded but I fear our reputation goes before us. I'm not saying it's impossible but I think we're going to have to be realistic about things. I'm all for a quick decision with all of summer to lay the groundwork.
Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford. Any would do. Palace another, though more established. These clubs have passed us by, largely by having football knowledge at the top of the club. If they make managerial changes, they don't lurch in a different direction. They might course correct slightly, but no major deviations.
Agree, but I feel quick decisions are something of an anathema for Tan. I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I fear another summer of speculation awaits us before we get our new man. Wouldn't mind that as long as we get the right man in the end. Unfortunately, the past time lags have more than often resulted in the wrong man. Agree that many prospective managers would be put off by the owner's past record and continued insistance on retaining footballing influence.
I always play nice Will and I'm sure most others on here too - it's just we all have different opinions and tend to voice them. In all honesty, I think we need jck back on here...........
