You're right about Hull they have lost 3 of the last 4 to MU, Lpool and Chelsea. Those 3 games were free hits for us as we didn't expect any points. Mind you we was lucky to get 6 against Fulham
Fulham's defence is terrible but, as I said at the time, that was a great win. I don't have a problem with Hull, and always enjoy going, but I don't think you should assume you're safe. You were looking very safe and now you're looking not so safe .......... the next stage might be 'not safe' or it might not. Just saying ........
Hi Smug, i am not assuming we are safe. To be truthful I am delighted where my team is, I envisaged bottom 6 positions all season. It looks like this season anyone of 11 teams can go down. I am happy weve got Jelavic and we are still after Long. There is no guarantee that either will score enough goals to keep us up though. Our defence is holding up well. I watched your game online yesterday...I was really impressed. Johnson looked class and if he can repeat that form you should be okay.
I didn't realise you'd actually signed him tbh. As I said I like going to Hull and you always bring more than Fulham which is good ......... just saying that 6 points is nowt when you look at the games you have to play.
Mate when there's 6 points between the bottom club and and 10th, you may as well be in the bottom 6. That 10th spot is yours to maintain not improve on. The simple fact is you're closer to rock bottom then you are to 9th place. Be proud of 10th if the position means so much to you at this stage of the season but if you look at the point situation you should be as worried as the rest of us.
Youre right we havent, I got carried away. My sources say hes in Hull tomorrow for a medical. 6 points is nowt, i agree. As regards the 10th place at the minute....i know can disappear overnight. After our time in the PL in 2010 most Hull fans are grounded. 17th will do for me.
I am not worried, if we go down, we go down. We have spent most of our time outside the top league so i am just pleased to be sat at the top table for once. 11 years ago we were virtually going out of the FL so were we are now is fantastic. The only worry for me is the usual stuff....my family, our health, our jobs and businesses.
Being nice or reasonable on here is not allowed, and he left out that Hull is a mainly rugby league city.
There's something a bit weird about that whole area ................. it's a bit lost stuck down there I always think and the people are always trying to latch onto things. It's surrounded by clubs like Grimsby, Scunthorpe and York but they claim their local derby is Leeds which is as about far as Sheffield ........ Leeds don't seem too interested in having Hull as their local derby tbh. They object to being renamed 'Hull Tigers' despite being known as the Tigers and the 'city' not really being called Hull. The city is called Kingston and the drainage channel it sits on is called Hull. They're in Yorkshire but some claim they're in the NE despite being much closer to Nottingham than us. The county of Humberside was abolished but some locals still claim they're 'in' it .......... how does all that work
Lets face it Smug, Hull is one ****ed up place, the sort of place you're happier leaving than you are entering.
To be fair, they take decent numbers away and are much more lively than the likes of Fulham ............ should be a great match at Sunderland. By that time we might be in a position to go above them, might not. Whatever the case Bruce will take the opportunity to go on and on and on about 10th place while totally forgetting about almost relegating the club after wasting millions
Hope you're right mate but I reckon a couple or more games before we overtake them, just a matter of time though.
If the current form continues, anywhere near how it's been, we could go above them at our place. Hull have a fixture list that looks very tricky for the rest of the season ......... a horrible mix of 'top' teams at home and relegation rivals away. They're poor away, for a team at 10th, and they have 4 of the next 6 away .......... they have 8 relegation rivals away from home! That could gradually knock their confidence if they start sliding down the table.
