Hey,wer'e top of the league, and we've been playing some brilliant football. We would always expect a difficult time.....it's been coming....no-one is immune to a set back is this division....it's the toughest going. Having said that...we've drawn a match away at a very difficult away venue. Let's see how Wed goes! It's two steps forward and one back in this league!
If we come out of these games still in the top 2 then we are serious serious contenders for the autos
I am not being blase here, but that doesnt look like a horrible fixture set to me. I say that in light of our form, not the opposition. We are clear at the top, have just taken 10 from 12 points. We keep clean sheets and are the leagues top scorers. If we can find a way to win against that Luton style I fear nobody to be honest. Preston away is a game to target 3 points in. Never expect 3, but we should target it. West Brom at home should again be a 3 point target. Our home form looks pretty excellent to me. Millwall away always has a feel to it of take a point and run. But again on form I fancy us to have a plan to win the game. Coventry home. I have a huge respect for Mark Robins. He will get them going. But again I compare our form and style to theirs and think we are favourites. Sheff Utd away is the one I look and think will be a real test, as they do have really talented individuals. We have shown up well against so called league favs though and no reason we cant do it again. Wouldnt surprise me at all if we get a 0-0, or even a one nil win. This all probably sounds a bit OTT on my part. But if you look at each game individually there is nothing to be fearful of. Sometimes we look at runs of fixtures and say these are easy, or these are hard. But in reality they are 5 games that stand alone and we have shown we can beat sides in a number of ways, and of course lose out of the blue. I have seen enough from the coaches and the players to relish every game.
This comment pretty much sums up my own opinion perfectly. If we serious this season then those three matches you’ve mentioned we need to be look to taking all 3 points. The likes of Preston and Millwall will be hovering around mid table come the end of the season so if you aren’t targeting 3 points off them who exactly are we expecting to beat away from home? Coventry will be a tough game IMO they’re just coming into form as they always seem to do around this time of the season and they’ve got Derby at home on Wednesday who I fancy them to comfortably beat. Our home form is great though and we’ve taken points from better teams already. Sheff Utd away is one of the few games we can expect to drop points, anything there is a bonus and if we do our job in the four beforehand then we can afford to have a free hit down there. Won their last 5 home games to nil.
I know the lads get a break for another f...ing IB, Jobe is getting a longer rest, Rigg was missing Saturday and Patto's had a couple of games off mentally giving him a rest. Get through the next 2 without any injuries/ cards and We're good to go for the busy end of the month. Does RLB need to rotate others, don't think it's in his DNA, as he didn't change much at Lorient and could that be his Achilles heel....time will tell.
How lads, these bunch of next fixtures will barely take us to half way in the season. We knew it was always going to be a 2 steps forward 1 back kind of campaign. It's a very competitive division.....anyone can beat anyone else at any time.....it's why it's so compelling. We are going to come unstuck from time to time...as are the other top sides....Leeds,Sheff U etc. We are not going to win every match, and nor are they. A point at QPR is ok. Bring on Preston.
The last time I remember we had an easy run of 5 games with some predicting 15 points, we got 2. Never count your chickens
