I'm sure we will try our best CCJ.It's not so much not fond of your team as a few of your blowhard supporters who said small town teams like ourselves,Swans,Saints etc were as good as down before a ball was kicked. But I don't think that, finding that we are safe,we will let the opposition score just for the sheer hell of it,like at Man City last May.Karma as Earl says though does have a habit of biting you on the ass.
At the end of the day, we concentrate on ourselves. The more points we get, the higher we finish and the more money we get to invest in the squad. I think if we start looking at games with any other motive (Ie losing because some of us don't like QPR, and to be fair, you've got some pricks for supporters, but no doubt we do too), then we've got problems. Personally, I've almost gone full circle on this. To begin with I wanted QPR relegated to almost "teach a lesson" to clubs thinking of emulating them (you) by massively overspending, and trying to buy PL status. But now, being aware of the Financial Fair Play rules in the championship, relegation would present a real chance of QPR sinking down the leagues. That doesn't hurt us, it doesn't really hurt Fernandes et al, it hurts the fans like yourself who are left picking up the pieces, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Agree with that DH. I'm only fond of one team, but I'm pleased that QPR have fought back to give themselves a fighting chance. Good luck.
We might have taken our foot of the gas after hearing the Stoke V Bolton score but take a look at the picture of Aguero scoring and you can see a few lunges (fruitless ones admitedly!)
Cheers and you. I think the win against Everton was massive for you. There was a danger of you dropping back into trouble but not now.
Yeah, the Everton game has hopefully given us the boost we need to get over the line, fingers crossed. We look to have enough games on paper where we can pick up points, so hopefully we'll perform well enough in the 2 or 3 games it'll take to get 'completely' safe. Equally, beating Southampton was massive for you guys. 4 points to make up, with your next 4 games probably being as crucial as ours, if you could stay unbeaten through them you'll stand a very good chance.
I see a parallel between QPR now and us after promotion under Worthington. 9 years earlier! He signed 'proven internationals' like Helveg, Jonnson and Svensson but at no stage did they ever appear to gel as a unit or fight tooth and nail for each other. Then Hucks and Crouch turned up and blah, blah. What I'm saying is Warnock, Hughes and Redknapp have all done what Worthy did - and far worse, in view of the stupid amounts of money in the game today. Signed players who 'should offer us something different'
Villa lost 0-1 to ManCity, but played pretty well while ManCity were below par. Not many clear-cut chances for Villa in the end. Delph got his 10th yellow card and will miss the next 3 matches.
Let's face it, we are 8 points clear of the drop with 10 games to go, and play Reading, Villa and Southampton at home plus Wigan away. If we go down, we will deserve it.
