What's the worst ground you's two have been too? I have only been going for the last 14 years(seems a long time) but the stadiums have all been modernish. The worst ones have to be Peterborough, Charlton(although that is good for an atmosphere), Scunthorpe, Grimsby and Portsmouth off the top of my head.

Got to be grimbsy, though that was a good away game even if we did only win 1-0.

It was a good atmosphere and brilliant banter. Went mental when Shearer scored, at least I did anyway.

That's the trouble with you youngsters, spoilt rotten, you don't know what's it's like to stand in the freezing cold with snow belting down on you. Wouldn't have changed it for the world though, enjoyed every minute of it.

AB, were you there for Liam O'Brian's free-kick at Joker Park? Or any game at Joker for that matter? What stories can you give? I love hearing them.

Was at Joker Park back in the day, standing in the open behind the goal. Was a bit better atmosphere in those days.

That season we won 2-1 there with O'Brien scoring was great like, thats when I got hooked on football, non-stop singing at games, sitting on the terraces. Going to a game was an occasion back then.

Any trouble(probably), funny chants, moments? What was it like when NUFC fans took the Fulwell and got marched round the pitch?

Not as much trouble as you'd excpect considering they didn't have so much security in those days. That plus not so many wore team colours, maybe the odd scarf or two.

How did you have to travel there in those days?

Had a motor bike as a kid and then a car but often went on the ordinary bus service.

Love hearing tales from the 'good ol' days' too ever since you's recommended the black and white daft book. Sounds like football's changed a hell of a lot since then, but still had some good times.
You must have a fair few stories from your 14 years too.

Ahh, I remember when I was a boy .............. 9d to get into the game unless you were small enough to scramble under the turnstile.

If only it was that easy/cheap now!

How much would that be in todays cash (with inflation)? I'm a bit **** at the old economics :)

9d would be worth about 4p in today's cash. Heads not working well enough to work out what it would equal in today's inflationary prices but about £9 or thereabouts I guess.

A lot of inflation then! But still £9 is very reasonable for todays game.
