Well, I got the news of the derby loss in the middle of three people almost dying of sunstroke an dehydration, they didn't seem concerned when I told them! Some people only think about themselves, don't they...

Always knew you had it in you <laugh>

Welcome back! Glad you had a good time. I saw the Spanish were protesting about the cost of the Pope's visit? Did it have any effect?

Maybe the prayers were why we didn't have Richardson and Larsson sent off? Certainly someone was looking out for us as that was more good luck in those first 2 games than we had most of last season.

I had no idea there were any protesters at all until someone told me, apart from one German guy who got into an event with about 13,000 young catholics. He said, in a very thick accent; 'Sex, drugs, rock and roll, you are all hypocrites'. He was booed off the stage, he didn't even need any security to take him!
I don't understand why people were protesting about it though. Each person paid for the WYD package; acommodation, food, events and part of the security bill. It also brought about 2 million tourists to spain, terrible I know!

Most of your fans seemed to have forgiven Bruce for the bad run last season and had even begun to look forward with optimism after seeing your summer signings. They seemed happy enough with a creditable draw at Liverpool and your team were the bookies favourites for the derby.

The derby itself was, as you would expect, a battle. You dominated possession for the first 20 minutes but didn't really create many clear-cut chances, but had a few efforts from outside the box. We got more into the game as the half went on and into the second half. The goal was down to a goalkeeping error, his starting position seemed too far forward, and we won, but neither team played very well.

Following this result, many of your fans have had enough and want Bruce to be sacked. The fact that he had such a poor finish to last season has surfaced again, and this, added to a poor derby result seems to have exhausted many of the fans patience.

Losing to Brighton and the weird team selection last night was the final straw for many of the remaining "give bruce more time" fans and I get the impression that the vast majority now want him out. Lots of very unhappy Sunderland fans.

There's been a few slagging matches on here, and not just against us Toon fans. cestriamackem and biffa have both decided to leave the forum. But Bill is back.

Us Newcastle fans are not taking the piss too much because we remember what happened last year when you got beat by Notts County and after laughing at you lot, we then got beat by Steveange and looked pretty silly.

I have tried to be as objective as possible here and have not given my opinion on any of these events apart from the derby where I have tried to take my newcastle hat off.

That's a pretty fair summary <ok>

You could have mentioned the ridiculous overreaction of some people as emotions are high right now, SO **** OFF BACK TO YOUR OWN BOARD MAG SCUM <laugh>
