Apart from the damage this is doing to the Public's faith in the political system and the parties (and also the police)...

    I'M LOVING IT!!!

As the plot thickens and the barrel of liquid **** begins to bubble, I'm glued to the radio and the computer, waiting for any more juicy news!!:emoticon-0103-cool:

I just love how this whole NOTW/Murdoch/Plods 'scandal' refuses to die.

....And it just doesn't end, does it? What a bunch of bastards!!

And - if you think it doesn't affect us fans, ask yourself:

Why is the Prem/Championship so ****ed up? Answer: MONEY!

Where's that come from? Answer: SKY!

It's not for football that they've corrupted the game. It's for PROFIT! GREED!

me too. I am hoping its not all political posturing though. I want to see some prosecutions come out of this. Murdoch banged up for years would be lovely.

He said it could now potentially jeopardise her appearance at the Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee on Tuesday, where she is due to answer MPs questions on the hacking scandal.

"I would assume having been arrested it's now almost impossible for her to appear. It's very difficult for MPs to ask her questions that wouldn't be seen to be impinging on the police investigation," Peston (BBC news editor) said.

What a surprise. The police (who are up to their necks in this) choose to arrest Brooks just before she faces questions from MPs. Making it impossible for MPs to ask any questions that may affect their investigation. This stinks and I hope they don't get away with it.

Somebody needs to be held to account, all this hacking was happening under her watch, it can't be possible that she was unaware of the sources of a lot of the stories. Tapping into the phones of murder victims and casualties of war is despicable.

It's just the timing of the arrest Thomsen. Why didn't they wait until after she answers MP's questions on Tuesday. They have now gagged her and I doubt it was a coincidence.

Will she be released without charge on Wednesday, ready to take up a position on the Media policy committee that gives Murdoch the green light later in the year?

Given there's already court records going back to when she was editor of NOTW where she admitted to bribing the police with large sums of money in exchange for lots of information I don't see what that would accomplish. The fact they didn't act on that testimony then is ridiculous.

"And quitting last night, he fired a bitter parting shot at David Cameron."

"He stuck the knife in by highlighting the Prime Minister’s close ties to Murdoch, while insisting that he himself had done nothing wrong."

Nothing wrong..............other than accepting a £12,000.00 holiday from the NotW, clueless twat.

Quote "Met chief Sir Paul is the latest victim to be claimed by the firestorm threatening to engulf Rupert Murdoch’s media empire.

Wehey!! This could be Cameron's Watergate brewing. He's already tainted by hiring Andy Coulson and now this.
I reckon Brooks was arrested because she lost her nerve (didn't want to be the only scapegoat) and decided to reveal the truth to MP's questions. So Old Brucey had to call some of his mates in the Met. to shut her up.
The only worrying thing about this story is we'll probably never hear the full truth because the press themselves are implicated, so who is left to blow the whistle?

About 4 months ago I wrote a university essay on Murdoch and his political ties. Most of the content in the essay has come true. I bet my lecturers are currently having a field day with my piece. Two weeks ago I was slating Murdoch and only a few days ago I had an interview to work at Sky. Funny old world!
