Ooooooooh the outrage! I'll still buy the NOTW on Sunday (and I read the Sun daily - for watching scousers)
Phew. All NotW staff have been invited to apply for jobs on the new Sun On Sunday paper, according to BBC. That's lucky.
Aaww - James Murdoch's being interviewed. Asked the same question three times. I didn't know he had Down's Syndrome. He's done well for himself.
What a ****. Sorry, but what ****. "There are real people involved in this." Yeah, including the 200 you just fired in order to try to protect your BSkyB bid you utter bastard. Is he a ****ing Valley Girl? Why does he raise the pitch at the end of every statement so it sounds like a question? I hate that. It sounds like, "can you understand the words my mouth is making?" He sounds like a 16-year old virgin trying to be mature and sophisticated, yah. 'Processes' is not the plural of 'processis'.
An employee of The Sun has confirmed to the BBC that the News of the World is simply changing its name to The Sun On Sunday, so no real change then.
Andy Coulson to be arrested tomorrow. Link: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/jul/07/andy-coulson-arrest-phone-hacking?intcmp=239
The National Union of Journalists has confirmed that journalists at The S*n walked out in protest at the treatment of their News of the World colleagues. An NUJ official told the Guardian "the whole subbing desk" walked out â "around 30-35 people". The NUJ has published the following statement on its website: "In solidarity with colleagues at the News of the World, tonight Sub-Editors at The S*n newspaper have walked out of work in protest. At the same time as the protest, inside the building, News of the World staff were being told about the redundancies. The company has told staff they will receive a 90 day payment which covers the legally required consultation period for job cuts. This exposes the cynical deceit of James Murdoch who earlier today said: "We will communicate next steps in detail and begin appropriate consultation."
