The woman reported the incident straight away and gave the car's reg number to Police. And even after dragging their heels in a mostly botched investigation the Police managed to identify the offender and confirmed he is not a Police officer and never was. But they are going to do nothing about him. They aren't even going to speak to him face to face. I think this woman did the right thing refusing to stop. She did well not to panic, in a situation where one split-second driving error could have led to a high speed crash. But her complaint has been treated with contempt. If the creep involved does manage to flag down a woman driver on the motorway in future and attacks her, what are the Police going to do then? Offer their sincere apologies? Nowhere near good enough. PS: I'm pretty sure there are a few people in the London area pretending to be Police on our roads. Not stopping other drivers maybe, but using dodgy looking blue lights fitted to otherwise unmarked cars to force ways through congested traffic. Two or three times I've witnessed this, and thought to myself that just doesn't look right. I know there are genuine Police unmarked vehicles which can flash concealed blue lights if they need to. But these cases I'm thinking of they just didn't seem genuine to me. Unfortunately I've not got any registration numbers.
