As someone who has recently spent a considerable time as a jobseeker, I would have welcomed something like this as I have very little experience as a consequence of being young. But I suppose thats just me though.

Police described a clash between English Defence League supporters and Anti-Jubilee protesters in which firecrackers and bottles were thrown and fights broke out as 'largely peaceful'.

More than 100 English Defence League and National Front members clashed with anti-Jubliee protestors in Newcastle city centre.

Footage captured by our reporters show firecrackers and missiles thrown into the crowd, and several scuffles breaking out.

Our cameras also showed EDL members making apparent Nazi salutes.

Lines of officers separated the two groups, although Northumbria Police said no arrests were made.

A force spokesman said the protest, 'although vocal, passed without incident'.

"No arrests were made, but police patrols will remain in the area and throughout the day and night."

One shopper said: "I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I saw a couple of fights and missiles being thrown into a crowd.

"The EDL heavily outnumbered the other demonstrators. They looked really scared."

Not nice to see so close to home.. For me one of the best things to come out of this jubilee malarkey is that the nation seems to have reclaimed the Union Flag from the facists..

Why does Queenie need 5 days of celebrating her Jubilee? She looked like she just wanted to kick her feet up today, and 5 hours of singing hyms in St Pauls was enough to put me to sleep... **** knows how she stayed awake. Drugs probably.
