Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 Review:

Story:
The movie starts with master Splinter telling the Turtles about the foot clan and their ruthless leader named Shredder, next reporter April O Neil (Megan Fox) is investigating about the recent foot clan operations from a dock worker, the dock worker tells her that the foot clan is behind a chemicals, but she gets pulled off by her coworker coz they had to cover another story that April is not at all interested in, but she does covers it, the police chief in a press conference tells the media that they are trying to bring an end to the Foot Clan crime problem with the help of Mr. Eric Sacks, a powerful businessman, April’s father & Sacks used to work together in a project earlier, April really wanted to go after the Foot Clan story coz she wants to become a big reporter, so she continues her investigation about the Foot Clan, Later that night when she was passing by the docks she witness a foot clan robbery in progress, she also sees a shadowy figure fighting the foot clan, she tries to take pics but does not get a clear picture, she goes inside the docks & find a mark in one of the cargo containers, she takes its pic too & leaves, next morning she tries to convince her superior that a vigilante is fighting the foot clan, & that there should be more investigation on this, her superior does not believe her, on the other hand after the failure of their mission at the Docks Shredder is informed by his second in command Karai that the foot clan is now facing a new kind of enemy that they have never seen before also that they are not human, Shredder orders Karai to bring out these enemies & kill them, Next the foot clan attacks a subway & take some people hostages, the TMNT sees this & goes out to save the people, April reaches there & is taken hostage as well, she witness the foot clan soldiers being beaten up by the vigilante but she still could not see who or what they exactly are, when the police comes in, April tries to follow the vigilante & sees the TMNT for the first time over the roof of a building, she takes a picture but the Raph takes away her camera, Don deletes the pic from her cam & Leo gives it back to April, just as they are about to leave Leo tells Raphael to come, the name Raph reminds April of her childhood days, April returns home & takes out a old box full of tapes & documents, inside are the Tapes & docs related to a project named “Renaissance”, a science project that Aprils father and Sacks worked together on, they were developing a Mutagen, the project had 4 turtles & a rat as lab animals for experimentation, Next morning she tries to convince her superior again, this time she tells her that the vigilante are actually giant 6 foot ninja turtles, her superior don’t believe her & fires her, after that she goes to see Mr Sacks the partner of her late father, there Sacks tells her about the real motive of the Project, that they were developing Mutagen to save lifes but a fire broke out & all was lost including April’s father who died during the lab fire, Sacks gives her his visiting card & tells her that he would do anything to help, on the other hand when Splinter finds out that April has seen the turtles, he figures that April’s life may be in danger, he orders the Turtles to bring April to their lair, that is the secret underground sewer where the turtles live, Don hacks into April’s computer & tells her to come meet the Turtles, when she does, the turtles kidnap her & take her to their Lair, there Splinter tells her what really happened in the Lab, he tells her that April’s father started the Lab fire when he came to know about the evil plans of Sacks, on the other hand Sacks visits Shredder, who is actually Sacks master, together they plan to take over the city using the Mutagen present in the Turtles blood, the cure to which is controlled by Sack & Shredder, Shredder immediately attacks the lair of the turtles, he tracks their location using the visiting card that Sacks gave April,
During the attack Raph is buried under the rubble & splinter is badly injured as the remaining turtles are captured, when april& raph pull out Splinter from the rubble, April & Raph & told by Splinter to save the rest of the turtles & stop Shredder, they both take help from Aprils cameraman friend, they reach the facility where the Turtles are held captive, there Raph fights Shredder as April frees the turtles, but Shredder manages to escape after injuring Raph, Sacks also escapes with the blood from all the 3 turtles, the turtles plan to attack Shredder on the roof of the building where Shredder is planning to release a virus on the population of the city, the turtles fall down this snowy mountain while fighting the foot clan soldiers & Karai, when the reach the building where Shredder is present, the 4 turtles go to fight Shredder, while April goes to get the Mutagen from Sacks, sacks tells April that he killed April’s father for starting the fire in the lab, sacks is knocked by Vern(April‘s Cameraman) & April takes the Mutagen to the Turtles, at the end of the fight Shredder falls from the roof to the ground & is surrounded by the police, in the last scene the Turtles come to meet April & Vern in their own Vehicle, saying that they will be around.

Well this movie has some good point & some really bad points as well, first the good things, the character design in really cool, every turtle is given his own costume & accessories according to his character, Shredder’s armor is also cool with detachable & retractable claws, he fires his claws, & pulls them back using the magnetic device in his suit, but that’s the only good thing about the movie, & there are lots of negative points, the action looks chaotic sometimes specially the snow mountain fall scene, there is not much martial arts in this movie, the foot soldiers are just mercs not Ninjas, the story is really short but its stretched really long, the direction could have been way better, some really misplaced humor, for example when the turtles are in a lift going up they start making music with their weapons, its place at a wrong time, & it took away the seriousness of the movie, clearly the viewers expected more from this movie & this movie has very limited things, except the character design nothing else is even worth looking in this movie, Megan suits April’s character, Shredder comes out too late in the movie, action is lacking, the one that are present are not really impressive, if you are a fan ot TMNT you can watch this movie once but don’t expect much out of it, I will give it 4/10.
