If their fans go mental and cause enough trouble things could turn out that way. Points deductions, games with fans banned etc...
If they were an English club would they have been busted right to the bottom of the whole league/ non- league pyramid? "Glasgow Rangers" no longer exists, it was liquidated. The new club simply bought some of its assets (though it's having problems holding on to some of them). I've worked with a few Rangers fans, they were good lads, and passionate about their football. But I've also seen them en masse ( at Hibs) and collectively they were the most hate filled and vile mob I have seen anywhere, inside or outside a football ground. I find it very difficult to have any sympathy for them.
To be honest I am sure that will be a major issue. If you analyze the stats from the last few seasons it becomes apparent that Rangers do not take much more than maybe 3000 to away games, often less, and they were competing for the SPL title! They do tend to travel better for friendlies in England and European games as these games are far bigger than most of their domestic games.
Div 3 is effectively non league in everything but name. Not one of the clubs in there average 4 figures, most are at about 500 per match.
Good point Flyer, I doubt any of the Div Three clubs would be competitive in our Conference, Rnagers have already indicated that they will be playing mainly youth team and reserves who would probably be too good for their 2nd Division...
Yes, because they don't have relegation to a lower level of a pyramid, that is one of the proposals for their re-structuring that will definitely take place for 2013-14...
please log in to view this image They couldnt go any lower even if they wanted to for safety reasons.
