Thought Taylor was on 10 goals for us, did always seem to score for the Under 21's.

Also goalscoring is way, way down the list of priorities for a good defender. It is a bonus, and they should just pop up with a few goals a season like Colo does but not consider it a main attribute, like people use an excuse for Saylor to play.

Just more or less put that on the Willo or Saylor article

Don't know if it's been mentioned, but last time Man U came to SJP they were defending a clean sheet record which I think went right down to the lower leagues, and Lovenkrands broke it within a few minutes. He should play.

    Harper
    Simpson Williamson Coloccini Enrique
    Barton Guthrie Tiote Jonas
    Ameobi Lovenkrands

I remember, they were on about how great van der Sar is then he spilled a shot and Lover pounced! I think we might go 4-4-2 with that team, if Shola is OK, with Ireland as an impact sub.

I wonder what we'll do if Shola is out? Lover by himself/Ranger by himself/Lover and Ranger?

Yeah, Lover should play, probably in a 4-4-2.

Yeah he's got it spot on IMO, Guthrie doesnt deserve to be dropped for Man U, so bring him on as a sub then if he looks good in the last 6 games, offer up to 5 or 6mil in summer I'd say.

Anyone fancy a cheeky bet on Ireland as first scorer?

Maybe last scorer if he's starting on the bench. Super sub anyone? ;)

I remember that game we were really unlucky to lose 2-1 and if we had that little bit of luck we would have stayed up. Anyway, Lover shouldn't play. He's had several decent games this season but they were against West Ham, Wolves, Birmingham etc. who have fairly poor defences. Up against Vidic and co he wont get an inch. I woupd go:

    4-4-1-1

    Harper

    Simmo
    Collo
    Willo
    Enrique

    Barton
    Guthrie
    Tiote
    Gutierrez

Ireland (if he's played a reserve match)

    Ameobi.

If Ireland hadn't got a reserve game under his belt or wasn't fit I'd play 4-5-1 andchuck Ferguson in left-mid (I know hes a kid and its against Man U but he's been impressive and I rate him more than Raylor) and move Jonas wide right with Barton, Tiote and Guthrie in the centre.

I cant see us getting anything from this game but I'll be happy if we really get in their faces and at least make it difficult unlike the 5-1, 4-1 and 6-0 scorelines of recent years.

    Prediction: 1-3
    Rooney (2)
    Barton
    Nani
    Barton

well we've got to try something different. If we just played them like a normal team they'de walk all over us so it's worth a go

I agree, needs to impress and probs not ready for a start. And, as Smudger said, Guthrie doesn't deserve to be dropped, he's done quite well.

I think we've got a half decent chance, isn't Rooney suspended and Ferguson banished to the stands? Just have to kick Berbatov early on and hopefully he won't fancy it. Think their biggest threat will be Hernandez . . . . and Nani . . . . . . and Giggs, Scholes, Fletcher, Valencia . . . . maybe Anderson, **** it we're screwed! They've so much strength in depth whoever they play we'll be hard pushed.

Last time we played them we battered them for twenty minutes and Vidic should have been sent off for a reckless tackle on Martins - I don't even think he got booked.

I would rather have a good go at them and get beat by a couple of goals instead of sitting back and waiting for the inevitable.

All we need is Sanchino to predict us to lose and we will be fine :D
