Gayle and Carroll are perennial bench warmers, even a mong like Bruce must know by now the outcome if they start - ie Gayle will get crocked in 10 minutes and Carroll will jump around like a tard, miss golden chances and then get crocked. I don't see how a 442 can work though, with mighty Joey being our only out and out striker, I assume some timing of a front 3 with Fraser and Murphy alongside him.
This idea of going 4 4 2 is for the goldfish. We didn't win for 11 games playing either 4 4 2, or 5 3 2, but we've taken 8 points including 2 wins from our last 7, so there's no sense at all in changing the system. It's also worth pointing out how well West brom had done in the same time period, so on reflection I don't think the results as bad as had been made out... West brom were unlucky not to beat Everton earlier than week and that was there only loss since drawing with man united.. Joelinton was one of our best players the last match and he's literally along Fraser the only outlet we had... Joelinton had a better game than Fraser all day long and they both should've got an assist. This idea of just throwing two strikers would only see the % stats go back to 30% max and gayle and Carroll are absolutely useless...
Bruce's ruled out starting Anderson stating he's too young and needs experienced players Too young? He's either good enough or he's not ffs Experienced in what? Losing
He might do something silly like pass the ball forwards, Hayden and Hendrick the wise old heads know not to do that
We never give youth a chance and even if it does well they drop them saying they're young. **** off Bruce is he good enough yes or no?
Agreed. I'd just throw him in that "false 9" - I think it would suit him well. Energetic, enthusiastic, likes to get forward. What Bruce will always do is put a square peg in a round hole, he's just exhibiting his dinosaur approach by saying it's all about experience. It's literally the only thing he has himself - experience. No ability, no success, just miles on the clock. Same thing that happened when we went down before - people thinking you can rely on experience, even if your experienced players are ****.
It's partly that, and partly the fact out youth system has spouted nothing but dogshit for years. Everyone was raving about Elias Sorenson a while ago, he ended up not cutting it at Carlisle and Blackpool and now he's at some mickey mouse 2nd tier Danish team. Or Phil Airey who Pardew brought on to try to save us from embarrassment when we were losing to Stevenage, ended up being not good enough for Blyth Spartans and is now at Amble Town. Or Haris Vuckic, who was supposed to be one of the hottest prospects in Europe, and ended up not being able to get off the Rotherham bench. What I'm saying in a long winded way, is that instead of clubs like Soton, Everton etc, who have good youth reach and continuously produce good youth team talent, we've neglected our youth team To the extent that 99.9999% of our youngsters are ****e and end up playing in the non league with a main job as a painter and decorater. I have no confidence in our youth players whatsoever and would see them as a big risk.
He was very impressive when he came on for the 1sr team.. He's got more ability than most our side already, he keeps the ball and can shoot. I know what you mean it's a risk, but if we keep playing the same ****e we're guaranteed to get the same result.
