Don't, don't you want me...to be him EDIT: I can confirm I am not him...I met Fran and left unscathed.
Agreed FLT. I recall that handfull of seasons ago we had such a good start that for a few weeks we were in the top three and he was asked on MOTD he was asked could Saints win the league and he replied "why not, they are playing well enough to do it". He was asked the question again by a somewhat incredulous presenter and he replied "yes" again. That quote got some mileage in the Press too.
So basically he is just a sycophant and blows with the wind, like virtually every other whining prick of a pundit. Saints are doing well, yeah let’s say they can win the league. Saints have been **** for 2 years, let’s say they can’t make it to 10th next year even though we will probs finish a win away from 20th this season. It’s partly the crap like this which stopped me watch motd. If ever the boy watches it I just come in for the games then piss off when they start talking about it.
Brian Clough told the motd producers what to do years ago - show more football! The rest is mostly pointless filling. I did like listening to Alan Hansen though, he had the knack of explaining things you’d otherwise have missed.
I keep thinking it is Sunday and yesterday was Saturday. Anyway, let's do it ! PS: Happy Birthday @timatoketchup
So basically he is just a sycophant and blows with the wind -------------------------------- Agreed. I've heard many of our ex players happily gush over our club, and the way they and their families were treated by us. And the difference it made to their careers. I never even seen Alan say anything appreciative about us giving him his big break out opportunity. People are using the word 'fondly' wrong would be my conclusion.
The telling time for me was last season when we beat Swansea. Quite a few unexpected people wished us well and were happy we won - Ron, Jose and even Gareth Bale tweeted. Not saying Shearer should have, but he doesn't feel one of our own to me. Even people like twat beard feel one of our products, but to me Shearer just feels like a Newcastle and Blackburn player, even though I was there for his debut and that hat trick.
