huh? he was in on goal if he got through … if he didn't compete that would have been a disgrace. his hamstring went , so running it into the corner became impossible , so bruce can shout all he wants he did all he could imo bar kick it to touch maybe
Compete for what? He ran the entire length of the pitch and passed it to a defender, if the ball simply rolled on out it would have been the exact same result. He had absolutely no need to run like that so late into the game, when most injuries start to occur.
But he didn't, he was rocking around on a wonky ankle, clearly was knackered, it's the 94th minute and he gave away possession. And it got him an injury. There's time to sit back and get a breather, and times when running like a madman for every loose ball is a bit short sighted. And by the way, I haven't seen a single glimpse of his hitting curling crosses so, he weren't ever gonna land that pass.
exactly and he still tried to make he pass after it went. I doubt he though oh i better just not try to score a goal because my hamstring is going to go if i try and run fast, so instead i will simply give up ?? wtf is he on about
We are rather fortunate Southampton are garbage, in terms of both this result and the season. It's very hard to see past Norwich, Southampton and Watford for relegation.
Another assist from Miggy for our winner....sacrifising himself for longstsff to come on and let rip with that pile driver! If ASM has done his hammy then we'll be lucky to see him back this side of Christmas....not too worried as I think the lad needs a rest and we can play Miggy over there if need be. We looked a completely different team once Carroll came on...what a cross for shelvey header as well. If that had been Joe Linton it would've put the ****ing windows out at the Earl!
I would dearly love Bruce to see why having a third midfielder is a good idea, from the start of matches. We sort of fell into a 5-3-2 when Longstaff came on and it looked much better for us. At the moment, we have two wide players on their weaker sides, constantly not playing crosses into the box. We have overload on the left in particular, but still create no crosses or chances from the wide positions. Meanwhile, central midfield is often overrun yet our best chances come from a midfielder - Shelvey - breaking forward. Now, if we play Shelvey and Longstaff with Hayden as a DM, we can keep 3 at the back, have more freedom for the wingbacks and give Joelinton or Carroll some company up top. It appears to be something Bruce wanted to do in his first match and I think we should start to edge towards that in the coming matches.
"Newcastle up into the top half. Comfortably going along at more than a point a game. Same distance from the top 4 as they are from the relegation. No home defeats since the opening day. One defeat in their last seven matches. And no doubt their fans still won't be happy." We really get on people's nerves.
