From Bruce: “We’ve got a few out. Clark, Ritchie, Lascelles, Saint-Maximin and Ki are all out. We’ve got a couple of question marks over Almiron and Shelvey. “Shelvey has a bit of a sore calf and Almiron has a tight hamstring. We’ll see how they are today and we’ll make a judgement on them after training.” “I don’t think you can take that risk with muscle injuries. If they’re struggling with it and they pull up and are out for a month or six weeks, then we’ll all look stupid. We’ll err on the side of caution.” If Miggy and Shelvey are out I'd Like to see us go 5-3-2 with the Longstaff's eitherside of Hayden and Joe and AC up top as a battering ram. Think it might be a bit of a bluff though from the gaffer
I credit bruce for a fee things so far, however he has run our players into the ground , so it could all start to look like a big mistake and one you have to admit rafa was never guilty of … rafa went smooth and steady , but bruce has set us off on a marathon sprinting
Agreed. I think partly being desperate to find good results and home pressures have probably encouraged everyone, including the players, to say they're fit every single game (ASM) and Bruce to go along with it. Rafa had the coldness to say "no, bench." Or according the MNF: "Shower."
and i believe most teams bottom half do the same thing, but because rafa never did we finished strong and they struggled over the line when injuries etc caught up … not sure which i prefer , but i will know come may.
I get a little triggered how long players are out for these days. Feels like the slightest pull and they're done for ****ing months.
no max or almiron , so we have no pace to counter with at all... if we play that way it won't work at all !! we will be going log ball
Be interesting to see how Joelinton plays - assuming Bruce plays him in his more natural left side role
I hope he does well I feel sorry for him he is trying .. he looks more comfortable out wide when he's picked the ball up there this season
