Thought we were unlucky to get nothing from that tbh. Some decent stuff in the first half down out right in particular. Second half not so good but it's not like Everton were creating much. Unlucky to hit the post twice and they've only won through our goal keeping error.

I'm really not getting it at all. He picked Diame, Darlow and Manquillo who all, just like the last hundred times they turned up, were crap. I have no idea what he expected. We're insanely easy to defend against. We only look half decent when we play at pace and attack the opposition but for the last dozen games we've only done it for 20 or 30 minutes or so. The second half was inexplicable. It was the motions of a manager who has no ideas left. I said at half time he'd wait 15 minutes then take Diame off. Everyone knew it, to be fair. Why? What is Slo-Mo going to do in the next 15 minutes? What did Rafa do at half time, we were significantly worse second half. Ritchie was up for it, went off. Aarons had no clue, but no real time and I'm at a fcking loss what flyweight Perez is going to achieve vs. three massive centre halfs. He falls over in a light breeze. And in four minutes. Did he even touch the fcking ball? Joselu. Holy ****. What is it? It's not a footballer. I just don't get any of it. We have attacking full backs, without cover. We cannot defend crosses. When we play with attacking full backs, we're going to have to deal with a ****load of crosses. It's happening every week. It has done for two months. Gayle can't play up front on his own. Never could, never will. Diame isn't a footballer. There's no plan b. When we have the football we're so pedestrian and have no movement up front. Do you know what I thought? This was like Liverpool's latter-day Rafa. Inexplicable selections, but frequently rescued on results by a bit of leadership and a lot of individual talent. For Merino's effort, see Gerrard, only with Stevie G it flew in often enough. There's no point having a manager who is only as good as his players. I don't believe Rafa is picking the best team, playing the right way or willing to change. We're in it deep. BUT - a takeover will lift the mood, some money will lift the team and we'll survive.
Didn't have the comparative spend in transfers, scouting network or wages that Benitez has. Only Stoke spent less and we have an undeniably worse team than any of Carver/ McLaren and Pardree reigns. Literally nobody can argue different surely. He's not perfect but he's got a pretty big excuse.
