Think as a fan base we are a bit quick to pass judgement on youngsters but at the end of the day the club doesn't make a decision on the player based on our emotional response to players coming through so being that Longstaff is the only player in the last 10 years to make 50+ app's from the youth team tells its own story. The northeast should produce much higher amounts of top end footballers than it does as a whole, although probably the lot down the road are the best at producing players through their academy disappointingly. That is really down to the club and the youth set up which has had little/no investment over the last 15 years. Fortunately that looks like that could change over the next few years as the club are now investing in the youth teams in terms of players and infrastructure/staff etc. and hopefully we will see a few more come through.
It'll be all his fault because they didn't want him in the 1st place but he wasn't the worst player in a Newcastle shirt today. The bullying of Joelinton has taught them nothing.
Joelinton was one of our poorest players today. But I don’t want to sit on that. They were all terrible in the main. We don’t generate good young players atm so we end up paying 50m for another clubs developments. That will hopefully change.
And you shouldn't because he's been one of the best every week for a long time mate. Newcastle fans will always bully the player they don't like though until he's made it impossible for them to keep going. We haven't had a chance to develop anything but it'll start. Youth players have been getting hoovered up just like senior players by clubs with more money. It's year one.
It’s only the beginning: we have to remember where we are. 3 years and these results shouldn’t be happening.
Exactly mate even if we fail to land 4th and finish 10th next season things will be building and progressing.
It’s a journey. We got absolutely schooled today. Does this mean Howe needs to learn from this game. That we can’t just do the exact same thing every game. He has been brilliant. But playing Burn every game is just suicidal.
I just think Aston villa are a better side ... I mean seriously they were going down when they sacked Gerrard so to be 6 points behind newcastle who've lost only 3 times before today tells you how well they've been doing since. It's not like they've not spent money either ... they were missing players today. Newcastle and Tottenham look ****e in comparison.
They are technically 2 years ahead of us mate. They have had a lot of investment. They have some very good players. We take it in the chin. They will say that’s their best performance of the season. Fair play. Look at the reverse fixture.
Exactly that was not the side that's now officially in thr race for top 4. I think Brighton and villa are more than capable of pipping Tottenham or even man united to 4th 6 points isn't much think there's like 27 to play for.
It will be monumental if we do get top 4. There isn’t a fan who believed we would get that. Anyone saying otherwise is lying.
