He definitely is 5ft 11in ish. Steven Davis is meant to be 5ft 8in and I think he's a bit taller than him.
Just looked on OS, Clasie is 5'7 and Long is 5'11. No problem with those, but Isgrove is listed as 5'10....only if his hair is bouffant and he is wearing stilettos. I saw him play for the u21s last night....he can't even play unless they mow the grass.
I think we get fooled by the average height of the modern footballer. A man of standard height will look small standing next to Pelle for example.
Alan Hodgkinson was Sheffield United's goalkeeper for seventeen years and played five times for England. 5ft 9in tall. It's impossible to imagine someone that height playing these days; they'd be completely overpowered by all the 6ft 3in + strikers. Sadly, it's also hard to imagine someone playing for the same team for 17 years. Vin
Nothing like that long, but I believe Kelvin is coming up to 10 years (next season?). Rare to even get to a testimonial these days. Checked it: ten years July 2016.
Hopefully that will be part of next year's preseason then. He deserves a big turnout for it, has been nothing less than a club legend since failing to sign for West Ham in the dark days of 2009.
You're quite right Fran. I remember meeting Ruud Gullit - I'm not small, coming in at an exact 6ft, but he just seemed like a giant (perhaps exacerbated by his personality too).
OK, he's 5 feet 10 and 55/64 inches [I kid you not], because that's 1.80m = his height. So very nearly 5'11". I bet when he gets out of bed he's 5' 11".
Long is about 5'11 for sure. Having seen him a couple of times up close. He's still great in the air for 5'11.
