You're right mate he was ****ing awful. Good in defence mind, think that pass saved him. 8 he was not tho
Elliot? Came in when needed and kept a clean sheet. What more could you ask for from a guy we bought from Charlton I love him
I don't think Merino "changed the game". He was uncharacteristically sloppy in possession and in actual fact we only looked threatening in the last 10 minutes. He was on the pitch a good 25 mins before that. An element of good fortune to his goal but he jumped well. First of many hopefully.
Any less uncharacteristically sloppy than the rest? **** weather definitely affected this. It was like McLaren for 70 minutes. We haven't gone that long since, well, Mclaren
It was a straight red. The slow mo didn't make it look as bad but in real time he went in with some speed. We were very stagnant attacking wise but that has to do with our middling personnel at that end of the pitch. We are going to have a few games this season where were really going to struggle for goals.
Yes, it was the replays from certain angles that made me think it was a little bit less than 100% red. I think if a red had have been issued he couldn't have had any complaints though.
Well, up until January at which point our new rich Arab owners will empty their bank accounts into Rafa's transfer kitty and we'll buy up the world's best strikers.
The stats say Crystal Palace didn't have a shot on target for the whole game. Was Elliott really that good?
Agree. Cabaye was late, he was off his feet, he was nowhere near the ball, he scissored tackled Yedlin, it was reckless and dangerous and as he slid he was not in control. Red.
I think ref's have lost the plot, Kane and Cabaye should have been sent off, but even more so the ref's are letting too much go, the holding and shoving in penalty boxes at set plays is getting ridiculous, they are allowing encroachment on penalties, dissent and surrounding of the ref is getting worse again and while watching the Chelsea match yesterday the ref allowed free kicks to be taken with opposition players standing within 2 to 3 feet of the ball, the laws of the game are being interpretated rather than being applied, there will always be certain aspects that are subjective but ref's seem to be very lax and players are taking advantage.
