He's giving it a go but it looks as though he's been asked to be the catalyst for the direct football. We need him making himself known in our own half aswell as bursting forward on the counter, it looks as though Pardew misses that one altogether... the melon!

Just look like a bunch of players mostly ranging from reasonable to talented but who have been very poorly drilled. They don't really look like they know what each others going to do, Krul has been told to hit every goal kick and free kick long and set pieces are hit it and hope. Management and coaches very look very much to blame.

Not dreadful but far from great too...Anita and Sissoko complimenting each other well but very little movement in front of them.

    Has Marveaux touched the ball???

It may seem this way looking at the surface but if you take a step back and look beneath the surface, you will see the exact same thing... Alan Pardew is a boneheaded moron.

    Terrible first half
Somehow we don't get marveaux on the ball enough
Ben arfa's trying to do it all cos he has zero faith in his strikers, and it's failing
Ameobi is frankly getting in the way of attacking moves
Cisse doesn't seem to realise nobody's playing the ball behind the defence cos he keeps on hugging West ham's last man
Debuchy looks awful and lacks any real contribution. For christs sake jarvis outruns him
Sissoko looks like he wants it but has still been poor
All of them seem to be making hollywood first touches, really enjoying it too much and suprise surprise hammers com in and take the ball before they get their second.
Expect no improvement, even if gouff comes on

1st half pretty much a repeat of countless 1st half performances last season. Really hope we are not saying the same about the 2nd half in 45 minutes time...

I think we should all come to the realization that this is all down to Pardew.

In all honesty it hasnt been THAT bad!

But to many players look to nervous.

Shola has been gash as always.

    Fullbacks have been average.

    Anitas looked sharp.

Sissoko looks like he is trying.

But all in all it looks like a crop of good players with bad tactics and management.

Theres times where a player see a pass but does not do it cause he aint got the confidence to make it.

HBA looks like hes trying to hard but looks our only goal option.

Our system does not work for Cisse.

I was putting that down to lack of confidence - they seem to take their first touch but need to look twice before deciding where to play it. Suggests they are lacking personal confidence and/or team confidence - they are unsure what their teammates are going to be doing. Hallmarks of a poorly prepared team.

We need a manager who could can get the best out of these players. Pardew has lost the plot long, long ago. No one to come off the bench that could effect the game in a postive way but anything is better than Shola. He really is an abortion of a football player

My problem with it all is I have no faith in Ashley to make the right judgement, either with timing or replacements. I feel so utterly lost in it - damned if you do, damned if you dont situation.

I see wwhat you mean, i guess through my anger i didn't see it this way
It's still a problem either way but that could be down to pards
It annoys me barely anyone wants to run for a pass but again could be down to confidence
We look better this half bur reckon it will go back to normal soon without a goal
