Now have to watch other results hoping we don't get dragged back into touching distance of relegation.

CBs at fault for the goal too...it was a harmless Willo-esque hoof upfield and Saylor tried to put his studs on it for whatever reason that is.

Then Colo gets caught watching a movie while standing 10 yards deep, ok no issue, but then he decided to charge up towards the ball which he was obviously never going to get near and commit himself, which led to the break through.

    Definitely could've done better.
Bad taste in our mouths to lose a point like this, but still 6 pts from the last 3 games is a pretty good haul

Why Pardew didn't make the changes sooner ? the ganme clearly went in therir favour one Gouffran had his legs broken and we didnt even get a free kick. That game had about 10 minuted plus the time for subs etc and the ref played advantage to us 3 times when there simply wasn't one. Bale is the only reason we lost NOT we gifted them the game in the end with school boy defending.

I think Marv was a disgrace by the way.

I've been saying Pardew can't read a game and again today he got it wrong. Players were tired and he doesn't even notice!!! he just lumped Shola on and told us to go punting it up to him when he's as good at hold up play as my granny.

Don't think I'd like to see our players deliberately trying to hurt someone, but we definitely gave Bale too much respect.

A couple of hard/fair tackles early on would've given him something to think about (like the one Colo should've done prior to the 2nd goal being scored - that was definitely a case of possibly taking a card for the team).

Marv was poor, but don't think you can blame Pards for putting him in - he's been pretty good last few games and to be fair to Shola he almost sneaked an equaliser, apart from Lloris' good save.

Good performances pretty much all round, apart from a couple of errors resulting in goals, which goes to show how tight the league really is.

If we can put in this sort of performance over the next 4 matches, we'll be fine.

Marv is not a winger, he is an attacking midfielder.

    Bale 2 Newcastle 1

Three points today would have taken us up to 12th. Would have been nice to breathe a bit more easily.

He is very reminiscent of "Cornelius" the character played by the actor Roddy MCDowell.

    Quick post by NUFC.com

Kyle Walker followed through with a clearance and caught Gouffran full on the shin and our man went down in some pain, needing gas as he was stretchered from the field.

Instinct suggests that Walker's contact had some intent in it and his body language and past history points towards a level of opportunism in the challenge. Dirty so and so!

Over eight minutes of added time - due mainly to the Gouffran injury - failed to allow United to break the maroon shirt hoodoo and referee Phil Dowd's final whistle signalled our sixth competitive winless game in it.

Never liked those tops, maybe we should just ditch them.

The people that come up with them should be made to wear them in public.
