Very much up to the first 11 to win the match, with such an inexperienced bench again, which seems to be the norm these days. Fingers crossed we get through a match without any injuries.
There was an excellent reaction to the last nine nil with performances against arsenal and man city. More of the same please. COYR
I count six players they're missing, including three CBs. So I think it is fair for them to say they have injuries etc. The difference is - compared to us recently - they actually have squad depth, like any PL side really should. We have six defenders, in total. When we get injuries, we get screwed.
What a funny 12 months it's been. The country has closed down, we can't see anyone or go anywhere. Global travel is off the agenda. Sports events are played to empty stadiums. Saints fans rejoice at Vestergaard in the first 11. Like i said, been a weird 12 months.
Nice to have a line-up that doesn't make me grimace, though Stephens at RB isn't ideal. Hope we adjust and play a fairly fluid imbalanced shape with Stephens staying home and Bertie playing high in possession. Not enormously keen on seeing Stephens pushing up the touchline much, especially with Saint-Maximin in behind.
Just as important as the team line ups, their is no Mike Dean or Lee Mason anywhere near this match. All is good in the world.
After having the misfortune of watching Jazzy Jeff for many years with Ireland, I'm ecstatic that he is playing!
Newcastle are playing Hayden (CM) at CB because of their injuries, so that’s something for Ings and Adams to target. Hoping that Willock doesn’t hit the ground running and that Stephens copes with Saint-Maximim.
Really dislike shelvy and he will probably have the game of his life. Poor temperament though, let's wind him up to see red.
When. 1-3 Picture it. Picture the Ralph smile, JWP smile and the Ings grin at the end of the game. Keep picturing it and it will happen.
There seems a great atmosphere amongst the Saints fans I've spoken to ahead of today - absolutely buzzing for it - feels like a huge game. Even managing to keep the nerves at bay - although I think the beer is helping there.
Mmm - the last match I was at in person was Burnley at SMS, almost a year ago - weather was foul!. Anyway, I thought Hendrick was the best player on the pitch that day.
Genuinely excited to see how we start. I hope it's fired them up. I wonder if Ralph has told the guys to win 10-0 to take the pressure off us. My prediction for a mention of our last result once we've kicked off is 28 seconds. Vin
