    Excellent running from Ober down the right to set that one up, and Moussa just crept up on the edge of the box, clever!

    Thought we looked fairly good apart from the lack of a cutting edge. Unfortunately Pardew and clever attacking play are not two things which tend to go hand in hand, and we lack any outrageously skilled forward.

    Nice to see Pards has us keeping it short and trying to play out. We have looked good at the back bar that half against Malaga. I'm just not convinced we'll be ok there though. He certainly seems to have them drilled but I think the individuals have limitations which you can't get past with training. They have ceilings of ability like any player.

    Very friendly game which is understandable with a week to go to kick off and SDJ/Tiote already missing. The competitive stuff will reveal our true level but we look to have been pretty well prepared by the staff. Again though, it is only tested when the real stuff starts. Shame we get hit with City again.

    We haven't played anyone even remotely as good as city and overall we've looked ****.

    In a snail paced gentle game (akin to French football) yes. Different when you have PL midfields testing your will to work. He may be better there now he had time to adjust, sure we'll find out at some stage.

    In all honesty, we haven't played anyone as good as Man City, but do we know for certain we were always playing full pelt? I like the way we are playing out from the back, as DMW stated earlier (also apparent at Huddersfield). Sitting on the fence for now- I'm sure you'll warmly remind me of this fact next weekend if we lose.
