Big win. Not pretty in the end, but big win.

    Mackems beaten.

Howay Froch smash Groves, it'll be a cracking day.

Phew, don't like it when we resort to praying for the final whistle.
We keep what we have is all well and good when you are soils at the back
We are best when we stay compact and attack quickly, don't like this sit back and see what happens mentality, which must be coming from Pardew.
We got away with it today, when we should have stayed in control the whole match. Can't help but feel that if we had maintained our tactics from the first half, our goal difference could have had a real boost.
3points but slightly disappointed, we didn't go in for the kill.

I thought we tired badly today. The lads who played in the internationals were out on their feet. The dropping deep was inevitable for me. The key is to know how to manage the situation, we didn't do that and looked vulnerable to the direct ball. Ah well they saw it out.

Delighted with the three points, though inevitably it wasn't easy.

Have to say though - Kevin Friend should be sacked for that Wes Brown red card. My word.

    Surely you meant knighted? <laugh>

Haven't seen it full tick but looked daft. Its like if your feet are both off the floor, its an automatic red regardless if its a nice clean tackle.

Huge three points in what is now a hugely impressive start to the season.

I didn't like the sitting off approach but Remy, Cabaye, Sissoko played in a hugely intense, emotional game for France in midweek so I do understand why Pardew set the team up that way second half.

Sunderland are bottom of the league, three points for us and my footy bet came in. Great day all round <ok>

    Mind the gap Mackems.

A pleasing 3 points and three wins on the trott now.

So a better start then I had predicated and one that sees us half way to safety.
Ten points from the remaining games in this calendar year will leave us searching for ten points to ensure safety.
The plan must be to push on forward and sort this piss poor strength in depth we have in January.

Its a significant turnaround from the meltdowns we saw on this board a couple of months ago. Well done Pards, and well done the lads. Job half done and after 1/3 of the season.

    One word - Divided <ok>

Today was Ch all over, from what we have seen so far. Slow starters most of the time, then fight back and even start to dominate to a degree - but all too late. This is a common theme for away games, as though he is playing for damage limitation or nicking a point here and there. Whatever he is trying to do for away games, just isn't working, and it is upsetting the natives. The players head drop far too quickly when we concede in away games and it is a worry.

If we beat Palace next week, he will be okay again for another two weeks, but if we start to lose the home games, it will be impossible for him to stay imo.
